Ovarian cysts don't usually cause any symptoms except they've grown so large...

...when ovarian cysts are large enough, they may manifest with:

-Big or swollen abdomen
-Pain before or during menstrual cycle
-Pain during sex
-Pain in the lower back or thighs
-Pain on touching your breasts
-Always feeling bloated or nauseous
-Vomiting

So if your tommy is growing big, it's a good idea to first do a #PregnancyTest then an #UltrasoundScan to be able to rule out any pregnancy & know if it's ovarian cyst you're dealing with.

For prevention, you can't really prevent ovarian cysts coz the hormones involved (estrogen & progesterone) are needed for normal #ovulation in women.

However, if you're having ovarian cysts frequently, hormonal birth control pills can be given to stop you from ovulating.

As you stop ovulating, your chances of getting new ovarian cysts will decrease to almost zero!
