I keep hearing people say "let the residents of Democrat hellholes enjoy the garbage they keep voting for."

I'm not willing to keep abandoning fellow Americans to bloody chaos, no matter how they vote, especially since not all of them voted for it.
We used to hear a lot about taking precautions against the "tyranny of the majority." Even if the majority of voters in your city support anarchy, rampant crime, and outright terrorism, the minority still deserve protection. The basics of law and order MUST be upheld.
I'm all in favor of federalism and local control - the more power that can be devolved to states, counties, and cities, the better. I'm all in favor of letting people vote with their feet to abandon bad government for good.
But the federal government DOES have a role to play in maintaining basic civil order and protecting the rights of all Americans, including the right to walk down the goddamn street without getting assaulted by the local mayor's favorite goon squad.
No one would have any difficulty whatsoever understanding this point if some caricature of a country-bumpkin mayor was letting white supremacists run amok and openly telling the cops to stand down. Not a single major media organization would smile indulgently and bury THAT story.
Voting for anarchy is no more acceptable than voting for slavery. The whole point of having a federal constitutional order is that we have inalienable rights and universal principles. There are things that cannot be done at the whim of a mayor, or with majority voter support.
And it's especially ridiculous to pretend the federal government has absolutely no role to play in protecting the public from looters, gangs, and anarchists, or protecting public resources for vandalism, after building a zillion-dollar micromanaging federal nanny state.
The feds are to grab a huge chunk of our paychecks, become the biggest employer and landowner in the country, become the silent partner to every business, dictate the content of restaurant menus - but do nothing if squatters decide to steal a few city blocks from the U.S.?
And these squalid little Democrat hellholes are not contained to within themselves. Violence and lawlessness spread beyond their borders. Left-wing fascist groups have been caught making plans to attack other cities. Interstate commerce is affected. The whole federal system is.
Democrat mayors and governors are CONSTANTLY blaming people in other towns and states for their failures. Not a blood-soaked weekend goes by in Chicago where its corrupt Democrat rulers don't blame other states for flooding their streets with guns.
Well, that works both ways, you murderous hacks. If we're all responsible for what happens on the streets of Chicago, then eventually we can and should act to bypass the Democrats and restore order. How many generations are we supposed to wait for them to do something right?
A decade ago, we were told that people who peacefully demonstrated for smaller government and fiscal restraint were tantamount to anarchists and terrorists. Now we're told that real, physically violent anarchy and terrorism are the rightful prerogative of Democrat feudal lords.
And the people arguing in favor of anarchy ALSO want the central government to be bigger and more powerful in every OTHER aspect! No police, but enforcers everywhere. No protection for you, but the State will have even more power to enforce its elite will.
That combination of anarchy and tyranny is morally wrong, absolutely corrupt, completely unsustainable, and contrary to every bedrock principle of the United States, from the Declaration of Independence to the Bill of Rights. It's worse than insurrection, or even secession.
If we're going to dissolve the U.S. and start over, then EVERYONE gets a say and EVERYONE should get their money and freedom back from the hollow shell of the national capital as it collapses into dust. That decision should not be made for all of us by a handful of extremists.
If the hour of our great national divorce is at hand, then I refuse to pay child support for the idiots play-acting at being "resistance fighters" while seeking to impose the tyrannical will of their leaders and throw destructive tantrums against everything they hate.
But if we're going to stick together, let us reaffirm that our government has a DUTY to ALL of its citizens, not just the ones a particular politician likes. The role of government at all levels is to protect ALL of our rights, not satisfy some of our grievances.
This "abolish the police" Democrat garbage is an explicit rejection of the principle that the state has a duty to protect all of its citizens, not simply use force to impose the will of the elites according to their notions of cosmic justice.
Your safety and security do not depend on whether your mayor or governor decides you lack the moral standing to demand protection for your life and property, or that others are entitled to use violence against you. They violate their oaths of office by indulging anarchy.
If local officials make it clear they are unwilling or unable to discharge the basic duties of their offices, then at some point the federal government has an equally important duty to step in. It will always be perilous and regrettable, but at some point it is IS necessary. /end
