People care a lot when police/agents injure reporters, and they should (Cc @ByMikeBaker). It would be nice to see politicians care just as much when rioters do it, which happens often in Seattle. Journalists should not be attacked or accosted for doing their jobs.
I understand that police injuring reporters is particularly egregious given they work for the government. But Seattle gives a free pass to rioters who attack and accost media. Seattle leaders do this by fostering an environment that is accepting of this behavior.
I have been equally critical of the President for fostering a dangerous environment for the press by trying to convince millions of Americans that we're the "Enemy of the people."

I understand that condemning actions of rioters is not politically advantageous for Seattle's leadership. But there is a clear lack or moral consistency when they don't do so - and more than that, they're putting lives at risk by staying silent.
I do, however, appreciate @CMTMosqueda expressing her desire to take steps to protect reporters from the kind of attacks that happened to our crew and others up at CHOP. Looking forward to hearing what they can do.
