📲 Imitation vs. Innovation

- Life doesn't have to be complex.

- Most solutions are built to solve everyone's problem.

- Ask yourself: what am I trying to do here?

- Know the difference between simple and easy. Then choose simple over easy.
👍🏼 Hell Yeah or No 👎🏼

- Too often our default answer is yes.

- It's better to do five big things than 500 half-assed things.

- When faced with a choice, if you don't react with "HELL YEAH," say no.

- Save your time for things worth doing.

🧠 Ideas versus Execution 🛠

- Business value comes from 10% idea, 90% execution.

- Value = idea x execution.

- Mediocre ideas with great execution are worth far more than great ideas with poor execution.

- Focus on getting to action as quickly as possible.
📚 How To Read a Book

1. Read to solve a specific problem or fill a specific gap in your knowledge.

2. Underline every idea that pops off the page.

3. Reconstruct those ideas into your own words.

4. Disconnect ideas from the book, treating each idea as an atomic unit.
🔄 Turning Ideas Into Directives

- Ideas are useless without action. Turn ideas into directives.

- You could write 400 pages on different diets. Or you could say "eat this, not that."

- @sivers has a book "Do This." in the works. Everyone tweet him and say we want this book!
⁉️ How to Thrive In an Unknowable Future

An example of @sivers' directives in action.

1. Prepare for the worst.
2. Expect disaster.
3. Own as little as possible. Depend on less.
4. Choose opportunity, not loyalty.
5. Choose the plan with the most options.
6. Avoid planning.
💸 How to Stop Being Rich and Happy

1. Prioritize lifestyle design.
2. Chase the comparison moment.
3. Buy, don't rent.
4. Internalize your new status.
5. Be a connoisseur.
6. Get to know your possessions.
7. Acclimate to comfort.

Invert, always invert.
Notes don't do the conversation between @sivers and @ShaneAParrish justice.

Listen to this on 1x speed and soak in every second.
