From what I'm reading, people are hanging around the American embassy in Chengdu waiting for document-burning smoke to appear. 
(CONSULATE of course, sorry)

The ordered closure of the US Chengdu consulate has really become some sort of spectacle on Weibo. Some 34 million people are apparently watching a live stream of the consulate area.
Many people on Weibo keep suggesting the consulate should be turned into a hotpot place, saying it should be called

Someone ignited firecrackers near the consulate?!
This video, being shared on Weibo, gives a clearer view of the situation around the Chengdu US Consulate when firecrackers were set off just earlier tonight.
Someone commented that the milk tea shop and ice jelly place near the consulate are today's "real winners" because they're doing great benefiting from this political altercation and the attention it's attracting.

The photo of the man taken away by police in relation to the firecracker incident (posted earlier in this thread) is individually reposted all over, many praising this "uncle" or "brother" for letting the consulate "go out with a bang" #关门大吉
