2/ Meso-carnivores play vital roles in ecosystems. The guild is comprised of 5 native species, which comprise 70% of total large mammal species of agricultural systems of southern Chile. One species, the small feline Leopardus guigna is considered Vulnerable.
3/ We test hypothesis of diff. effects of landuse intensification impacts of forest frag/loss + how land ownership divides landscape (coarse filter of human influence) + occurrence of domestic dogs and cats.

4/ We explore likely mechanisms of coexistence and behaviour alteration consequences in native carnivores when they co-occur with domestic carnivores by assessing spatial-temporal avoidance. Multi-stage occupancy model and two-species occupancy model. See this graph + next tweet!
5/ Profound effect of land ownership subdivision which could be driving defaunation in agricultural areas. Native species are also being replaced by domestic carnivores. A video is worth more than a fancy graph SOUND ON! And look at the direction of movement.
6/ Urgent planning of how sub-division is being driven by ex-urban development. Protection of agri. lands is needed. Critical are measures to reduce free-roaming dogs and how remnant vegetation is protected.
