I’m so sick of hearing the story that all men and boys in order to stop raping and abusing women and girls is ‘more education’.

I’m sorry, but no.

Men and boys don’t abuse & rape because they need a bit more education, they do it because they WANT to and society SUPPORTS them.

Really? You really think that ‘education’ will sort out the millions of abusers, rapists and DV perps?

You think some lessons, some sessions, some education will help them?

Nah.

Society is inherently misogynistic. This is so much bigger than education of men and boys.

You really think that education will help these rapists, murderers, traffickers and abusers to ‘see the error of their ways’?

Really?

That’s all they needed, huh?

You really think that men and boys rape and abuse millions of women and girls because they are a bit confused? Or don’t understand consent?

Bollocks. They do it because they can, because they want to, they see women and girls as objects, & cos they won’t be held accountable.

You think all these rapists, traffickers and sex offenders are out here attacking women and girls Cos they are just a bit stupid and need some education?

How do you explain well educated perps?

How do you explain police, doctors, charity workers abusing girls and women? Hmm?

This is NOT an issue of lack of education.

This is an issue of global, historical, cultural, religious, interpersonal, social, systemic, political, institutional and overwhelming hatred of women & girls - which positions us as objects for men to use and abuse with impunity.

It’s so fucking naive to think that rapists, abusers and traffickers of women and girls just need a fuckin 6-week education course.

Sorry to go off on one about this but I just logged into twitter to see yet another tweet/headline about how these dudes wouldn’t have raped and killed women if we just educated them more and talked to them more.

What a crock of shit.
