Filtered Up Next queue’s for individual services are rolling out to the TV app experience: Whilst I’m not seeing them just yet, this addition is further proof that the TV teams at Apple aren’t resting on any laurels. @AppleTV and tvOS have some exciting times ahead in 2022
To reiterate the original tweet, these filtered Up Next queues are currently exclusive to the Apple TV+ tab and Apple Channels pages. I’m interested to see how Apple end up offering a consistent experience across non Apple Channel content…
Having one consistent UI has been the dream since before tvOS and I wonder if thats the direction the company are going (even if its a user preference option). @devondundee had an idea of a OS level Up Next on #mrol e35 that could overlay third party experiences. I hope so 🤞

Apple’s TV app has issues cataloging some box sets with search, Siri playback and purchases not recognised. Last week I bought ‘The Big Bang Theory: The Complete Series’ on iTunes with the express goal of fixing the box-set. Here’s how to get a fix within the TV app...
Here’s how the box set was being reviewed on iTunes... eeek
Before I get to the fix, here are examples of what was wrong with this particular box set:
• You would be prompted to pay again for an episode you already owned. The only way to play your purchase was through Library.
Whilst not affected by cancer, I spent most of my childhood in hospital having tests and extended treatments. I was fully aware, even at that young age what effect it was having on my parents.
I couldn’t imagine what the added pressure of astronomical bills would have done to two incredible parents.
@StJude - much like the NHS - don’t charge for treatment. With your generosity we can make sure that continues. Along with their continued groundbreaking research

Some kid friendly Apple TV+ content announcements have just been unveiled:
#Ghostwriter Season 2 debuts on October 9th followed by the return of (personal fave) #Helpsters on October 16th guests inc Danny Trejo, Norah Jones & Terry Crews
Some new series are also debuting...
.
“Doug Unplugs” from Dreamworks animation based on Dan Yaccarino’s book series about a young robot who downloads information each day about the human experience and goes on adventures with best friend Emma.
Debuting November 13
.
Lastly “Stillwater” is based on the Scholastic book series “Zen Shorts” by Jon J Muth and centres around siblings Karl, Addy, Michael and Stillwater, a wise panda, as their next-door neighbour. Trippy!

My PlayStation 25th anniversary story begins awkwardly. I nor my family could afford a PS1 so we hired one (with a full deposit) from Blockbuster video. I had one joyous weekend with Ridge Racer and Battle Arena Toshinden...
Eventually I saved up my pocket money and picked up a PSOne immediately realising I found horror games impossible to play (even though I’m ok with horror films). Resident Evil was beyond intense (On PSVR, 3 generations later. Not a chance!).
At the launch of PlayStation 2 my mum and I went halves. I was a Tekken Tag addict and was blown away by DVD menus and extras. My first being Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind... Media Studies called it synergy.

Just about to start @TheMorningShow again. Saturday night in whilst visiting mum for the first time since lockdown. Mum had “never heard of it” which isn’t a surprise as whilst Apple TV only for 5 months she’s rarely inside the TV app. Impressions to come...

E01 “Blimey, this is a bit heavy”.
Yes mum! Something I hadn’t noticed the first time round was how well written the interaction between Alex and Mitch was. The first 20 mins of E01 is likely what got critics to mistakingly write off the show...
.
E02 “She’s played a blinder there”. Mum isn’t a fan of Cory (my favourite character). Alex’s awards ceremony speech was the WTF moment that got me hooked - same goes for many others I’ve talked to. Such a good show. More to recap tomorrow...
