MHCLG have responded to 2 of my Freedom of Information requests about Westferry Printworks
Initial reaction was why take so long to say they will not answer my Q but they do help disprove parts of Robert Jenricks story as they suggest some things did not happen
1st FOI thread
1/
FOI submitted 27th May, amended 29th, deadline 26th June
26th June late afternoon MHCLG say they need 20 more days to answer, new deadline 27th July
27th July 5.12pm they respond saying they will not answer request as "manifestly unreasonable" and that "considerable..
2/
"time would be needed to locate and review documents in order to determine whether we hold information in scope of your request"
This answer so late I believe to be misleading
This is because my FOI is basically an expanded version of a Judicial Review request by
3/
Tower Hamlets Council in Feb 2020 following a detailed exchange of letters from 4th Feb between the Council & MHCLG
The Council then submitted a Judicial Review requesting the High Court grant its application for disclosure
I would assume that MHCLG would compile the doc's
4/
to see what was in them before responding to High Court request
I do not know if the Court granted disclosure request but given that Robert Jenrick admitted decision was unlawful by reason of apparent bias & should be quashed the implication is that MHCLG did collate the info
5/
So @MHCLG is asking us to accept that in response to a judicial review request by Tower Hamlet Council that it did not think about pulling together all of the documents to see what was in them before admitting the decision was unlawful?
It maybe that my FOI asked for slightly
6/
more information then the Court Order but I believe MHCLG already had collated most of the information I requested, so to answer my FOI required only a little extra work and was therefore not "manifestly
unreasonable"
Compare Court Order to my FOI 27th May, amended 29th May
7/
And 24th June document disclosure (if accurate) already answered much of my FOI request
So any additional information I requested (to go back earlier into 2018 for example) would not have required much extra work (if nothing did happen in 2018) so again why unreasonable?
8/
& why take so long to say they could not answer my FOI as would take too long, literally at the last hour?
It was a poor excuse for not answering my questions
Copies of FOI etc here

Will do separate thread on other points
