A testimony of Ancient Indian advanced metallurgical technology

Iron pillar in Delhi

Dating back to 4th C.E wrought Iron shaft of about 24 feet high still standing tall

It has never rusted even though exposed to wind and rain for centuries!

Now a forgotten technology

Cont..
There is considerable evidence of ingenuity of ancient India’s metallurgists and technologists were producing high-quality corrosion-resistant iron and steel as early as 400 AD

in the form of installations, exhibits and pillars installed in temples

Even with today's advances
only four foundries in world could make this piece and none were able to keep it rust-free

One of earliest known metal expert (some 2,200 years ago) Rishi Pantanjali in his book "Loha Shastra" describes in detail metal preparation

Thanks to research by Prof. R. Balasubramaniam of IIT, Kanpur and his team of metallurgists

A protective layer of `misawite' — a compound made up of iron, oxygen and hydrogen on steel pillar, which is said to contain phosphorus -
is claimed as reason for non-corrosive

Our Ancients have set standard very high

Yet to be touched by us leave crossing them inspite of having all modern tools & technology

Many facts and Ancient monuments give testimony that Ancient technology was more advanced in many ways 🙏
