(1/x) A funny way to talk about an agreed-upon partnership, but kissing up to the violent part of her base I guess... A couple of things: 1) #FPS has been protecting the Hatfield Ct.house since it was built in 1997; 2) Portland has had daily violence...
(2/x) ...every single day since May 29th, and that had nothing to do with federal officers; 3) In May and June, there were a grand total of only 3 days when federal facilities were targeted for that violence, but in July it kicked up to every single day;...
(3/x) 4) at the same time, intel clearly showed further targeting of fed facilities was likely; but 5) neither Portland police nor Oregon state police would cooperate with @DHSgov officers to deal with criminals and preserve peace until this week...
(4/x) 6) once additional officers arrived, they stayed inside the ct.house for days til things got worse, so silly to say they caused already-uncontrolled violence going on before they got there.
(5/x) Gov wants credit for finally doing what we have been asking for for weeks, well, she’s doing it now, so that’s good. And this kind of cooperation goes on as a matter of course in the rest of America - even in cities that don’t view @POTUS favorably. We and they still work..
(6/6) ...together, as @realDonaldTrump has instructed us to do. And our officers will remain in downtown Portland to respond if needed until peace is maintained, at which time we will be able to draw back down to our usual level of federal officers in Portland.
