Taleb wrote, “...arguments should be simplified to their maximum potential; but often people confuse complex ideas that cannot be simplified into a media-friendly statement as symptomatic of a confused mind.”

And Einstein supposedly said, “All things should be made as simple as possible, but no simpler.”

But it turns out that was probably a simplification.
What Einstein actually wrote was, “the supreme goal of all theory is to make the irreducible basic elements as simple and as few as possible without having to surrender the adequate representation of a single datum of experience.”

A little more verbose.
So the point then is not to reject complexity. And even when you’ve hacked away to the basic elements, they may still be arranged in a meaningful but complex way.

Don’t shy away from that. Don’t sell short your own reasoning for the sake of acceptance.
Give complexity it’s adequate representation, and refine your message till it’s as pure as you can make it.

Then let time prove it’s merit.
I forgot that Mencken chimed in on this as well
