Many Rajputs of Mewar/Chittor (specially Gehlots sisodias) still do not celebrate Rakshabandhan because Maharana Pratap lost the Chittor on the day of Rakshabandhan due to that many Queens have to do jauhar. Many Rajput warriors were killed in the battle.
number of dead warriors were estimated by the weight of Janeyus recovered from their bodies official records wrote the weight of Janeyu "सवा मन" = 60 KG.
Due to that Rakshabandhan is a sad day for Guhils ( Gehlots Sisodia), Chauhans, Tomar , Pundirs and Kushwaha Rajputs. They tie Rakhi to their agricultural tools only.
Even in our families we don't make Pakwan etc. for the whole month but we do tie Rakhi as parents do not want kids to rob of happiness.

आज के दिन मीठे के नाम पर बस कच्चे जवे बनते हैं जिनका भोग लगाया जाता है।
Also, it is said that they were defeated as they were unarmed at that time and busy celebrating Rakshabandhan.
