The final version finally has colour (yay!). These cards show one of Josie Rizal's move. It was important that these cards felt like it belonged to her. She is from the Philippines and her entire concept is inspired by her origins.
Even her colours are inspired from the Philippine flag.
Sketching out what defines her character is an important process. It helps me become aware of her designs. Ever tried to draw a flower by looking at one? You will notice all the twists and turns just from sketching. Drawing empowers you to be aware.
A real pain in the butt to figure it out was start-up frames. But I eventually got it. Took inspo from Josie's concept design. Her shirt is embellished with the Philippine Jasmine, so it was a no brainer to use this.
Don't get me started on colour. Lots and lots of trial and error to figure it out.
