Major breakthrough in Sushant Singh Rajput’s case.

Ex-DCP, Bandra police speaks out. Says, Sushant’s IPS brother-in-law sent him a WhatsApp message in February 2020, alleging that Rhea Chakraborty was in a live-in relationship with Sushant and was controlling and exploiting him.
The DCP clarifies that he informed Sushant’s IPS brother-in-law that a written complaint was required for the police to act as they couldn’t act against two consenting adults in a live-in relationship without a shred of evidence but the family wanted police to act informally.
The DCP says the family desired that the Mumbai police summons Rhea Chakraborty to the police station and pressurises her informally to get off Sushant’s back, something that the police didn’t have the power to do without a formal complaint from the aggrieved party (family).
The DCP further clarifies that Sushant’s brother-in-law who messaged him on WhatsApp is himself an IPS officer and knows the law.

The DCP asks that if the family was really worried about Sushant’s security and it was an SOS situation, why did they not lodge a formal complaint?
The DCP states on record that ever since he informed Sushant’s IPS brother-in-law of police’s inability to pressurise, school or act against Rhea informally, he didn’t hear back from him.

The DCP asks when Sushant’s own family didn’t want to come on record, how could police act?
To the Mumbai police, it seemed like a matter of internal family crisis.

The DCP says he could have only been able to act, had Sushant himself or his family filed a written complaint against Rhea because there is no way, police can summon someone based on he said, she said.
The DCP says the family should have initiated a legal action against Rhea Chakraborty back then if they knew that the situation was this grave.

(Note: People abusing me, this is not my opinion, I have just reported the DCP’s version. Just like you, I too want justice for SSR).
I am no legal expert but I am really sad that everyone acted so conveniently.

Now when the man is gone, everyone is blaming each other.

I understand that our system is such that the process is punishment but I really feel that both the parties should have been more responsible.
