.@MrAndyNgo is giving a very sober, sophisticated, yet easily understandable assessment of Antifa methodologies, from organization to command-and-control, to weaponry. judiciary.senate.gov/meetings/the-r…
"Portland is the canary in the coal mine," @MrAndyNgo says in @SenTedCruz-run hearing. Antifa, he says, wants to destroy our republic.
Professor @JonathanTurley is testifying now. We are witnessing an erosion of freedom of speech in America. "Antifa is arguably the most successful anti-speech movement of this generation," he says. judiciary.senate.gov/meetings/the-r…
Professor @JonathanTurley agrees that Antifa is "winning" because of universities, media, and politicians effectively promote and endorse the violence. He cites Nadler calling Antifa a myth: "Antifa is no myth. ... Antifa trains people to remain anonymous."
Professor Turley: Antifa wears masks as part of its modus operandi.

(Could be a reason why so many politicians want the entire population to wear masks during this rioting.)

"Silence kills free speech. It is the silence of professors as their colleagues" are harassed..."
George Washington University Professor Turley blames the "silence" of professors, journalists, and "most importantly" politicians who threaten free speech.

Antifa thrives through intimidation and through public silence and inaction, he says.
Michael German of the Brennan Center for Justice tries to sound moderate but is blaming law enforcement for making protests more extreme. He mentions BLM but doesn't want to fix blame on Antifa, and says holding groups accountable would be "counterproductive."
Michael German says that there's a lot of "disinformation" about Antifa, most of it "unsubstantiated," that has undermined law enforcement and caused "vigilante" groups to take action. He blames Trump for making problem worse by identifying Antifa as a terrorist entity.
Nkenge Harmon Johnson of the Portland Urban League testifies in the @SenTedCruz hearing, saying that she is being denied her full constitutional rights.

She blames "dangerous federal forces" from Washington DC to silence black people in Oregon.
Johnson is trying to make it look like white supremacists and Nazis are getting help from police, so it's no surprise that the police would call black protesters "rioters."

She is giving Antifa and the armed rioters and arsonists a free pass.
Johnson of the Urban League says that critics are creating "political theater" and focuses on protesters being repressed and abused for reasons having nothing to do with organized violence. Her oral testimony makes it appear that police are committing political repression.
My colleague @ShidelerK is testifying now. He's giving a superb presentation on Antifa and the problems that law enforcement has had in identifying it and how it operates.
Kyle Shideler is going into how Antifa is funded, how its operations are low-cost, how "armed and un-armed training" is funded. "Far from being non exisistent," Antifa is as real as any organized criminal group, he says. @ShidelerK Antifa will grow and become more sophisticated.
.@MrAndyNgo is eloquent in his exchange with @SenTedCruz. He describes how the mobs in Portland assaulted and beat him, and how Antifa is very clear in calling for the abolition of the United States.
GW Law Professor @JonathanTurley says that Antifa is part of a larger, broader anti-free speech movement that threatens all Americans. "I have never seen the level of fear and intimidation on campuses" in 30 years of teaching.
Professor Turley says that college administrators do not protect free speech and that the teaching profession is "dying" as a result. Free inquiry and debate is under constant and increasing threat.
.@SenTedCruz says that 7 Democrat senators in this hearing spoke, and not a single one condemned Antifa.
Senator Hirono objects to testimony of my colleague @ShidelerK at the Center for Security Policy, but she still won't condemn Antifa by name.
Michael German of the Brennan Center, a former FBI special agent, inadvertently shows us why the FBI has never been able to get a grip on Antifa subversion.

He might have been a good undercover cop against traditional extremist groups, but shows no understanding of Antifa.
.@SenTedCruz: "Elected Democrats want to ignore the violence of Antifa ... rather than condemn violence from wherever it is coming."

"Not a single one of the Senate Democrats who spoke at this hearing" spoke out for murdered black police officers.
BLM "was founded by three self-described radical Marxist," @SenTedCruz explains, naming who they are.

"Trained Marxists" who studied Mao, Marx, and Lenin.

All Democrat senators on the panel are OK with this.

Communist Party's Angela Davis is a "mentor" of BLM founders.
.@SenTedCruz explains how cop-killer Assata Shakur (Joanne Chesimard) is on the FBI's Most Wanted List and is a hero to the BLM leaders.

Cruz adds that May 19 Communist Organization terrorist Susan Rosenberg is a top BLM supporter.
Cruz explains that Angela Davis worked with the Kremlin and urged the Communist leaders to keep Jewish political prisoners behind bars because they're "fascists."

(Angela Davis went on Putin's RT propaganda channel to endorse @JoeBiden for president. Biden is OK with it.)
.@SenTedCruz is itemizing big companies Amazon, Gator Ade, Nabisco, Jordache, Deckers, Microsoft, Dropbox, Fitbit, and others are funding this extremism. He calls out Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos personally for funding "explicitly Marxist terrorist" group that glorifies cop-killers.
"How many times do I have to say that we should be denouncing violent extremists of every type," Senator @maziehirono says in exasperation.

@SenTedCruz asks if she'll condemn Antifa by name, and she won't do it.
"We should all join hands in denouncing and, ah, whatever words you want to use about violent extremism of all stripes ... so to constantly accuse Democrats about this [shows] you are not listening," @maziehirono says.

Then she leaves the hearing in a huff.
Senator Cruz opens up the floor to invite @maziehirono to denounce Antifa by name, and she walks away and out of the hearing room.

Cruz notes again that not a single Democrat on the panel, even when specifically invited, would criticize Antifa.
