One more point about the "Ride or Die with Biden" mindset. The guy who has forced us - in my view - into this position of basically giving Joe nearly a blank check on most things is Trump himself. Hear me out. /1
Trump will do everything in his power to rig this election, and, if he loses, to turn the election into a horrifying clusterfuck for as long as he can. He is directly attacking the electoral institutions of the United States, and he will welcome Russian help in this - again. /2
The only remedy - the only solution that can defeat Trump and Barr in this plot against the election - is to elect Biden by an uncontestable electoral *and* popular landslide. That means every vote, even in blue states, counts as a message against this electoral chicanery. /3
If this were a "normal" election, sure, we could push and pull more on the margins: Hold back votes from Joe in blue states to cut his margin; split tickets; vote third party. All of those are now - *because of Trump's own threats* - too dangerous to risk. /4
If there is *any* result but a landslide, Trump and Barr are going to pull out all the stops to try, for the first time in history, to paralyze a U.S. election from the inside. (See the @brooks_rosa wargame on this.) Sorry, there just isn't a margin here for protest votes. /5
People who want to complain about how "the Dems will go crazy, and they'll do whatever they want, and Biden needs to be restrained, and save the GOP" - yeah, hi, @Peggynoonannyc - don't seem to care that *Trump* has elevated the election to a must-be-a-landslide necessity. /6
Trump made this. Don't complain to me about it. I didn't make the rules. The President of the United States has made clear he will not accept the outcome unless he likes it. So it must be *uncontestable.*
