One thing that is working well for me recently: Internal Family Systems.

IFS is a therapy system that proposes the mind is composed of multiple “parts”. These parts represent different personalities, emotions and motivations.
By recognizing these parts of ourselves we can better understand our own mind. Often we have elevated or repressed parts because of challenging experiences. Ex: I have a part that desperately wants to be approved of by others, because I felt like an outsider w my peers growing up
Eventually that part of me that needed approval became dominant as I grew into an adult.

Often we want to reject parts of ourselves that seem “bad.” Who wants to go around seeking the approval of others? That’s fucking thirsty.
But the key to integration is the recognition that even those parts of you that might seem negative are there for a purpose and help you.
The part of me that wanted approval helped drive me to start a company and become successful, and drove me to share my knowledge and help others on their entrepreneurial journeys. I see that, and am thankful for it.
The key to becoming a fully integrated self is to accept and love all of your parts as they are. Most of the time we are letting our parts run our lives. Some may be dominant, and we follow their needs unconsciously (to the detriment of other parts).
Once you truly see your parts without judgement, you can listen to them, ask them what they need, and then choose your path.
The human experience is wonderfully multifaceted. Love yourselves.
