How a bible passage saved an army in the 1st World War. 1. #This is a true story...enjoy and be blessed .
In his book, the romance of the last crusade, Major Vivian Gilbert, aBritish Army Officer, describes an amazing event that was part of Gen.Edmund Allenby's 1917 conquest of
2. Jerusalem during World War 1.
in the book, the Bible as History, Werner Keller quotes Gilbert...
"in the 1st World War, a Brigade major in Allenby's army in Palestine was on one occasion searching the bible with the light of a candle, looking for a certain name his Brigade
3. had received orders to take a village that stood on a rocky prominence on the other side of a deep valley.
it was called Michmash and the name seemed somehow familiar.
the Brigade Major found the name in this passage of scripture, " And Saul and Jonathan his son and the
4. people that were present with them, abode in Gibeah of Benjamin, but the Philistines encamped in MICHMASH"(1st Sam.13v16).
the Major then continued to read the account in 1 Sam, which goes onto tell how Jonathan and his armour bearer went out at night to spyout the
5. Philistines: "And between the passages...
there was a sharprock on the one side and a sharp rock on the other side and the nameof the one was Bozez and the name of the other Seneh. (1 Sam.14v4).
in a miraculous turn of events, Jonathan and his side killed about 20 men on
6. half an acre of land (V14),
it set off such confusion that whenthe rest of the 30,000 man Philistine army arrived on the scene, they thought they were surrounded by Saul's army and started killing each other (1 Sam 14v20)
7. the tide of d battle turned, & d Lord saved Israel that day (V23).
Keller goes on to explain what happened next in d 1917 battle.
"the Brigade Major reflected that there must still exist this narrow path through d rocks, bw d 2 spurs, & at d end of d half acre of land, he woke
8. the commander and they read d passage through together once more.
patrols were sent out.
they finally found the pass, which was thinly held by the Turks, & which led past 2 jagged rocks, obviously Bozezand Seneh.up on top, beside Michmash, they could see by the light of
9. the moon as mall flat field.the Brigadier altered his plan of attack, instead of deploying the whole Brigade, he sent 1 company through the pass under cover of darkness.
the few Turks whom they met were overpowered without a sound, the cliffs were then scaled, and shortly
10. before daybreak, the company had taken up a position on the half acre of land.the Turks woke up and took to their heels in disorder since they thought they were being surrounded by Allenby's army.the rest were all killed or taken prisoners.
the British troops were
11. victorious in d 20th century by following d battle plan of Saul & Jonathan.
it is also amazing that Gen. Allenby's liberation of Jerusalem was prophesied by Daniel and Haggai.
in Dan. 12v12, Daniel had a vision that Jerusalem wld be delivered from its enemies in 1,335 days
12. to understand bible prophesies, it is important to realize that a dayequals a year or a thousand years.
on the prophetic day for a yearscale, from the time Daniel wrote these words it brings us to 1917.
biblical scholars also point to Haggai prophesying the overthrow
13. ofJerusalem on the 24 day of the 9th month (Haggai 2v18) .
on the Hebrew calendar, this is December 9th, the exact day that General Allenby was handed the keys to the Holy city
.
14. ISNT OUR GOD GREAT? FROM EVALASTING TO EVALASTING, HE REMAINS THE SAME...
Halelluyah to His name forever in Jesus name--

1 Samuel 2:1 MSG
Hannah prayed: I'm bursting with God-news! I'm walking on air. I'm laughing at my rivals. I'm dancing my salvation.
She was "walking on air" she was bursting with ecstatic joy. It's the kind of joy that can make anyone restless
D life of a chosen is always a call into d life of conflict. A call into d unknown, into a life of d mysterious
Mary ws chosen for a "divine assignment"
An assignment dat brought"conflict" into her life
2..
To be chosen creates conflicts.
-“Conflict” means a clash of two or more things. ,in this context, clash of two natures.

D way God works is unfathomable. Sometimes, He uses humour to achieve d ultimate goal.
D king was so bored & in a twist of d discussion he was havin with "Assistant Elisha" brother Gehazi, he asked in V4

2 Kings 8:4 MSG
The king was talking with Gehazi, servant to the Holy Man, saying, "TELL ME SOME STORIES OF d GREAT THINGS ELISHA DID."
📍
The king had said, tell me a story
That woman's story was not d only story Gehazi knew.
Records have it that Elisha performed 16 miracles.
Parted the waters of the Jordan River (2 King 2:14)
Purification of the water source for Jericho (2 King 2:18-22)
Protection of the prophet by two she-bears (2 King 2:23-25)
Water for the army of Israel and success over the Moabites (2 Kng 3:16-25)
He was d king of Assyria.
He was known as d "d great king"
He was so powerful nations feared him. He used d gods of d conquered territories as wood to flame the fire around him during winter.
He had other gods thrown into trash cans and burned with fire 🔥 (V19)
Mortals were no match for him.
gods too were "running" from pillar-post seeking for help from other manmade gods 😂. None could withstand him...none could stop him either.
On a day like this, he turned his attention on Israel and Israel's God. He had just finished dealing with Judah, Israel's sister.
Now, a king with such a RESUME would easily be on top of the world, after all, he had some gods behind bars, others, he used as firewood.
