Thanks for asking what did PMLN do for Karachi. MNS (and SKA as PM) came to KHI many many times, more times than I can remember. It was MNS’s concern for KHI that he empowered the law enforcement agencies and brought peace to KHI, getting rid of bhatta 1/6
kidnapping for ransom and armed political wings. PMLN led by MNS built the green bus line, paid half cost (12.5 bil) for K4 water project, built power plants of 1320 MWs each at Port Qasim and Hub, started building K2 & K3 nuclear power plants, completed the Lyari expressway, 2/6
expanded and upgraded the KHI-Hyderabad motorway, created a National Industrial Park in Pak Steal, kept natural gas flowing in KHI when the rest of Pak had debilitating shortages, ensured continuous supply of power to KHI, doubled the money federation gives to Sindh, 3/6
gave extra money directly for KHI package on MQM request, built a new terminal in KPT, set up 2 RLNG terminals in PQA, etc. I know of no PMLN govt meeting with business leaders where at least half the people didn’t belong to KHI. PMLN made sure that KHI (and the rest of Pak) 4/6
got its due share in all national schemes, including the Youth Loan scheme, etc. For a party with electoral presence and little direct authority in KHI we did a lot Alhamdolillah and if my fellow citizens of KHI give us a chance we will give KHI the importance it is due. 5/6
Our party president Shehbaz Sharif ran in elections from Baldia Karachi (how he “lost” is one for the record books 😊) and we had announced plans to set up de-salinisation plants and a modern light rail system for KHI to meet its needs into the future. 6/6
