The most commonly asked question is what market am I missing? Where should I be building products?Seems like some folks didn't get the memo, we have an over abundance of last mile+ d2c+ market places + payment tech + bill aggregators + ride hailing + super app aspirants.
All excellent spaces to compete and get market share but you need jet fuel to burn.. $$s. Why dont we focus on areas & markets that we see, use and consume from daily. Google. If you turn your Google to India and even the US you will see it doesn't want u to leave the search page
It offers you all kinds of in-page/on-page content, It doesn't create most of it, it has either deep licensing arrangements or it displays breadcrumbs from other sites, more & more its shying away from scraping content esp in developing markets. So what does this have to with you?
Every thing, if you ask me. If you want to build for a market, that is ever growing, that has allegedly 80M participants who need data/info and Google serves it up to them. Why wouldn't you be building for that market? So how can you? You go and build a better mouse trap.
Sooner or later,Google will want some one to classify, update, own and deploy local data say on
1) Products by brands in PK+Price(see pic)
2) All Schools their addresses, open close times+ pins
3) All the countries ATMs + pins
4) All the govt offices, opening closing hours+pins Image
5)Industrial data
6)Political data
7)CPEC Data
8)Population+Statistics+Country facts from an internal authoritative source
10)All the ISPS
11)All the Bakeries
12)All the factories in Industrial zones
13) Recipes + Ingredients + stores that have them
14) Things near me with times
15)Cloud Kitchens
16)People who do same day delivery (across products)
17) Financial Services and their offerings
18) University syllabi and results
19) Admissions info, timing, semester info, enrollment criteria, documents required
20)Search Google trends, see what people want
Google has licensed &continues to license content from authoritative sources. This list is neither complete, nor accurate, its an estimate of what products the market searches for and what Google would need data sets on. Build every thing for voice search, do it once, do it right.
As you think about market product fit, think of what people need. Google trends (trends.google.com) are your best friend. If you must build a startup, build 1 that can meaningfully organize data sets analyze them & become the authoritative source for locally rich data
It will not license all the data & wont license what it can drive from your sites & do things like Knowledge Panels bit.ly/Kpanel. But local is key, context is king. Build for both, make sure your data is authentic & yours. Think small data, think aggregation & updates Image
Google US is your guide, India is a decent benchmark, What ever in page info you see on the US Page, know that it will eventually be global. Be ready for the future, go build, the market is there. @rebootdude @jehan_ara @raza_matin @Ash_Kalim @YusufJan @ZMoosaPK @TalhaIzhar
