If you are just starting up, no one is expecting you to make a contribution to eradicate polio. Make money first before you tie your business model to some altruistic goal. When you have money & scale you can solve problems at scale, GROW before you Give.
Any business should be in the business of making money, having positive social, economic, climate or other impacts should be a planned/thought out consequence of where you want to be but cant be the cover under which you mis lead your self if your business isn't growing.
Self deception under the guise of "I'm doing it for a good cause "has killed more businesses than it has grown. Stop feeling sorry for your self because you feel sorry for others & want to help them, that help can come when you make some greenbacks. Confusing your end goal sucks
The only cause at a startup stage is to get your unit economics right and make money every time you transact. Stop entering competitions to win grants to help your "cause", if you have a "cause" mentality 9/10 times you will be on the wrong side of history. Walk before you run

Don't be a statistic in some one else's "cause". Pick your battles, be self sustainable dont be distracted by the "winds of aid". Every so many years foundations and their cronies come to town "wanting to help".They are checking off their stated foreign policy objectives, past it
Being invited to "inclusion" summits & meeting the underbelly of foundation or aid money is going to do nothing for you. How many at scale companies do u know that were founded by aids or grants, who were unable to sustain their own business model? Consider this money "jet fuel"
Take it to supplement your growth,dont use it as dole to fund your day to day existence. Be smart,plan your assault, make sure you apply to all "free money/grants" but dont get caught up in the "qawwali nights" & "honor role" summits,take the money and run,be honest in using it
No body likes a dishonest founder. Its the worse kind of individual to deal with you end your career before you begin it. Comply with the rules but use the money to achieve hockey stick growth. Handouts helped no one, don't count on them but make them count if you are fortunate
