Now that we have the majority of the results from last night’s primaries, what are the next race progressive are looking at?

On August 18 there will be primaries in Alaska, Florida, and Wyoming. While these states are fairly red they are interesting and we could get some wins.
Note: These are just congressional candidates (there could be many state candidates who are not included).

Alaska this year has gone from a “Safe GOP” state to “Lean GOP” across the board, meaning it’s going to be pretty competitive.
For Alaska Senate we’re backing Al Gross. While Gross may not be a perfect progressive he is a strong candidate who could flip the seat and be an ally to progressives in the Senate (certainly worth looking at his campaign and platform).
In Wyoming, @ForWyo is running a really strong progressive campaign a crowded field of more centrist candidates (she’s a phenomenal candidate).

@VoteHafner is a progressive running to unseat Liz Cheney for the Wyoming’s At-Large house seat.
It’s probably very well known that Wyoming is one of (perhaps the) reddest state in the country but you never know what could happen and at the least, these candidates could inspire more progressive and help bring the state closer to the left.
The big ticket state on August 18th is Florida, which has many progressives running all of the state for US House, Florida Senate, and Florida House.

While it is a fairly red state, there are pockets where Democrats win and several of these races in GOP districts are competitive
In #FL02, Kristy Thripp is running as a write-in candidate against Representative Neal Dunn.

Adam Christensen is the progressive favourite in a somewhat competitive Democratic primary in #FL03. The seat is going to be left open with Rep Yoho retiring.
^ It will be a more competitive general election than many are anticipating.

In #FL05, Albert Chester is running to unseat Democratic Incumbent Al Lawson (a solid blue district).

Richard Thripp is a strong candidate looking to challenge Rep Waltz (GOP).
^ This is in #FL06. The LeanTossup model has it at GOP +10.5 so it has the potential to be more competitive.

Sufiyah Yasmine is vying for the seat in #FL10 to unseat Rep Val Demmings.
Allen Ellison is running uncontested in the primary in #FL17, however this is a very red district.

#FL18: Progressive Pam Keith is in a competitive primary for which candidate will face Rep Mast in the GE. The race has recently been listed as a competitive race for the GE.
Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick and Guido Weiss are looking to unseat incumbent Democrats Alcee Hasting and Lois Frankel in #FL20 and #FL21 (respectively).

Sakinah Lehtola is primarying Rep Frederice Wilson in #FL24 as well (another great progressive candidate)
The big ticket House race will be in #FL23 where Jen Perleman is looking to unseat Sebbie Wasserman Schultz. While Jen is the underdog, if she pulls of a victory that would be huge for progressives.
