Title - The Day wahala visited me as a Bank Branch Manager.
This scripture was my saving "grace".
Psalms 18v16 GNB.
The Lord reached down from above and took hold of me. He pulled me out of the deep waters.
. I recall many years ago when I was a Branch Manager of an International Bank in the city of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. (It wasn't a palatable story back then.)
While enjoying my vacation, I got a call from a colleague that my branch was ‘on fire’ and in my usual manner,
I told her to get a fire extinguisher to neutralize the fire and she responded, "Pastor, I am serious!" it was then it dawned on me, the seriousness of her message. She said, "a fraud of N61m had just been perpetuated in your branch".
Trust me, I resumed that same day in the branch.
While driving from Abeokuta, Ogun State, the first thing that crossed my mind was, How?
I tried to crack the fraud by thinking of every way fraud could have been successfully perpetuated right under my nose without having a
premonition. I was confused and worried about the implications on me, my name and my career. I cried to God, saying, Father, this is deep trouble, help me, step in and sort things out.
Within 5 hours, my branch was already busy with Internal Control Officers of the Bank and several Policemen with all attention on me being the Branch Manager. For one week the police made routine calls to my branch but never asked me a single question or subjected me to any
form of interrogation. God indeed shielded me.
At the end of the investigation, it was discovered that one of my staff was behind the fraud.
Prior to this event, I was processing his (my fraudulent staff)Visa application to the British embassy through our Human Capital department but, along the way, his Int'l passport was misplaced at our head office and this absolutely scuttled his plans of traveling out of the
country and his escape would have made things difficult for me. It would have been a monumental task trying to exonerate myself as an accomplice.
Now back to the culprit, immediately he suspected his cover was blown, he escaped from the branch and I cried again to the Lord, saying, "Lord, You never leave a task unfinished...finish this once and for all ". The next day, and according to him, he walked back in complete
suit without shoes covering a distance of about 10km not to surrender himself, but because, he just did not know what was dragging him back to the branch.
For the entire 3 weeks, the police were daily coming to my branch, not once, I repeat, not once was I interrogated. At a time in prison custody, he offered the investigating police officers the sum of N25m if they would frustrate the case and by divine intervention, the
police declined his offer.
God not only shielded me, but also pulled me out of this ‘deep waters’ called trouble. Gladly, we were able to recover N59m frm various banks he hid the stolen funds
I bring good news to you, that is if you are being overwhelmed by troubles with seemingly no way out; the God that reached out and brought me out of this deep waters will do the same for you.
Yours may even be more complicated than this, you may even be so deep in it that
the possibility of getting out is non-existent; God will step in and He will pull you out.
Nothing is too hard for God to do or undo.
He will reach out from heaven to help you.
He will send helpers to you that will fight your cause.
He will shield you for harm or from harm's way.
He will take you by the hand and pull you out of this "water" in Jesus name.
I pray for you, being fully persuaded that He will help and send helpers to anyone in "deep waters". You will not be drowned and neither will you be burnt, you will come out smelling like a rose in Jesus name.
I look forward to your testimonies in Jesus name
