How children are violated in Nigeria is BARBARIC. BBC Hausa did another sad story today. A 67-yo man found an 11-yo girl at a market in Jalingo. She’s likely a lost abductee or IDP with no parents. Instead of finding her house, the man turned her into a sexual and domestic slave.
He harboured her for months and raped her serially. He made her hawk stuff for him in the day and collected the profit. At nights he didn’t need her, he invited others to “hire”, rape her and pay him a fee. Three suspects have now been arrested by police and a fourth is at large.
No country, I repeat, no country that treats its children this way would see peace or prosper. We must all stand up to protect our future. It has got to be a whole-of-govt, whole-of-society approach. It isn’t just for the police, NAPTIP or activists. Say something. DO something.
