My first conversation was with @LauraDeming who attended / dropped out of MIT and started a VC fund focused on longevity — all before the age of 18! She talked about the importance of raw hustle and her unique path. (2/10)
The next conversation was a whirlwind tour of the college business model with @JohnMaeda. He explained how universities are like Disneyland — how valuable is Disneyland over Zoom? (3/10)
.@JeffWeiner has thought very deeply about educational reform, so I was excited to hear his thoughts. One of the topics we touched on was how to figure out what your passions are in the first place. (4/10)
Like most conversations with @pmarca, he provided a macro view of the education system and drew parallels to real estate and healthcare. Ultimately, he made the case for completing college, especially for technical majors. (5/10)
Of everyone I talked with, @KarlieKloss has one of the most unique paths — she started her modeling career first week of high school and recently founded @KodeWithKlossy. She encouraged listeners to follow their gut and build relationships. (6/10)
Unfortunately @mayli’s video isn’t ready just yet, but it should come out in next day or two. As the former VP Design of Khan Academy, May-Li has done some incredible thinking on the role of education in developing yourself as a human. (7/10)
