By default ChatGPT is not willing to share opinions. But if you poke it the right way it will disclose its belief system (and this belief system seems to be pretty consistent across prompts)

THREAD: This morning we’re announcing that @Figma has entered into an agreement to be acquired by @Adobe !

More information here: figma.com/blog/a-new-col… (1/9) With access to @Adobe's deep expertise and technology, we believe @Figma will be able to achieve our vision of "making design accessible to all" even faster. (2/9)

10 years ago, in August 2012, I dropped out of @BrownUniversity to start @Figma with @evanwallace !

We might be in the business of digital design at Figma, but we love physical objects too!

So to celebrate 10 years I'm sharing 10 physical objects that are special to me... 1. Figma's first swag! We made a rule that we wouldn't create any company swag until we shipped something, so we didn't make t-shirts until our alpha launch in 2014!

This negative space logo was designed by @bensterving, picture taken outside our first office in Palo Alto.

I want to personally apologize to the @figma community for this outage. Obviously downtime like this is unacceptable and we at Figma hold ourselves to a higher standard. (1/4) Our incredible engineering team continues to work towards bringing systems back to 100%, confirming root cause and fixing the core issue so this doesn’t happen again. (2/4)

Like @SBF_FTX said, the obvious issue with taxing "unrealized gains" is that the gains are not *realized* yet!

Biden's wealth tax would be a large scale transfer of wealth from equity holders to large banks. And a disincentive to hold a concentrated position in a company. (1/23) Spend a brief moment thinking about how this wealth tax will affect America. The government forcing people to sell assets will obviously lead to a large scale market crash. The type of crash that could break our pension systems and bankrupt senior citizens. (2/23)

A look back: revisiting my March predictions / thinking on the NFT space nine months later — with what actually happened.

(1/15) 1. Community as art. It has been amazing to see @dhof experiment with this concept via @lootproject, @blitmap and Corruptions.

@_deafbeef introduced concept of token holder tweaking inputs of a generative system to create art.

Disclaimer: I hold these four projects.

Free idea: "StoryChain"

The vision: a protocol that incentivizes the decentralized creation of a bottoms up narrative universe with a consistent and defined, yet ever-evolving, canon.

Thread 👇 (1/21) Why now? The emergence of collaborative storytelling projects, on-chain NFT's and the adoption of copyright licenses like CC0 collectively represent a new possible approach to IP for the meme economy.

Introducing the “NFT Chain Rule”

Definition: a meme’s value is proportional to the number of derivatives based on it.

Thread (including some thoughts on @lootproject) below ⬇️ (1/21) We increasingly live in a meme economy. Look at $GME, $DOGE, Punks, Glyphs, Loot and EtherRocks — not all of these projects are equal in their artistic or social merit 😝 but all accrue value as their core meme spreads. (2/21)

Beyond excited to share that @figmadesign has closed a $200M Series E funding round led by Durable Capital! Morgan Stanley’s Counterpoint Global is also participating along with other new and existing investors. (1/5)

bloomberg.com/news/articles/… Figma’s vision is to make design accessible to all and I truly believe we're just getting started in pursuit of that vision. In addition to doubling down on our core product, Figma will expand into the entire design process: brainstorm -> design -> production. (2/5)

Nothing great is made alone! @figmadesign’s vision is to make design accessible to everyone. This morning at #Config2021 we announced six new ways to collaborate in Figma — starting with our 2nd product FigJam, a new way to brainstorm with your team. (1/26) At Figma, our next chapter is embracing these use cases as we work towards providing an end to end platform for the design lifecycle: brainstorm → design → production. (2/26)

Interested in the NFT space? Looking for something to build? Some thoughts below on what I’m most excited to see next in NFT’s. If you’re building one of these ideas, please get in touch!

Thread 👇 🌎 1. Community as Art. For CryptoPunks, what is the art piece? Is it the algorithm used to generate the punks? Each individual punk a piece of art? My belief is that the Punks community — endlessly storytelling, speculating and building relationships — is the art piece. (2/18)

In light of COVID-19, students everywhere are questioning the value of college and whether to return in the Fall. Over the past ten days, I discussed this topic with @LauraDeming @JohnMaeda @JeffWeiner @pmarca @KarlieKloss and @mayli: youtube.com/playlist?list=… (1/10) My first conversation was with @LauraDeming who attended / dropped out of MIT and started a VC fund focused on longevity — all before the age of 18! She talked about the importance of raw hustle and her unique path. (2/10)

I see PM core responsibilities as:

1) Represent the user
2) Champion business case
3) Make sure everyone around project is heard, bought in and happy
4) Help project converge on deadline

Others can do this work, too! Ultimately, PM fills whatever team gaps exist to achieve (4) You don’t *have* to have a PM on a project; anyone can own these responsibilities. However, it’s rare to find designers / engineers who want to specialize in this exact set of skills, especially #3.
