#Migraine & #cluster are now officially classified as chronic primary pain (disability & emotional distress not accounted for by an underlying condition), not chronic secondary pain "where pain may at least initially be conceived as a symptom secondary to an underlying disease."

🚩🚩 1st: To everyone fighting #migraine AND #stigma: migraine is not "emotional distress." It's the #1 cause of working-age disability globally.

It is, in fact, "an anatomically specific pain state" & "a paroxysmal disorder of pan-sensory gain."

"Migraine Pathophysiology" was published by Pediatric Neurology in 2020.

I was 3 when diagnosed. 3% of kids age 3-7 have emotional distress not accounted for by a condition of known etiology or established pathophysiology.
