With such a great wisdom on state autonomy embedded by the legendary political scholars is a remarkable eye opener. Without state autonomy there shall never be a Co-Operative Federal System.
During Constitutional drafting, our constitutional experts have initially proposed and proceeded towards autonomous state but due to subsequent events, the ideology of state autonomy was shattered and paved way for a federal system with a powerful Union Government .
When our mentor Thiru Anna, dropped the demand of Dravida Nadu, He clearly reminded the necessity and Significance of autonomous state within the framework of Indian Union.
He often insisted that the power of Government of Tamilnadu and the power of Indian Union should be clearly disclosed so that all the state governments would not function as per the wimps and fancies of central government in all aspects.
Our mentor Thiru Anna, disclosed these facts when he came to New Delhi after his sworning as the Chief Minister of Tamilnadu.
After his demise, our leader Dr.Kalaignar came into power and announced a five motto . The main motto among those is the demand for autonomous state for the states in Indian Union.
During his entire life time he did a lot and worked a lot for getting autonomous state within the Constitutional framework of India union.
I admire his perseverance towards attaining the state autonomy and planting the ideology and importance of state autonomy in the minds of their believers is a tremendous work.
Thiru Dr.Kalaignar made history by demanding the State autonomy for the states for the first time in India after Independence.
Accepting to the same, many leaders of various other states realised the pinch of powerful Centre and followed his footsteps on the State autonomy.
The States, Puanjab and Westbengal raised the demand of State Autonomy and submitted a memorandum followed by Rajamannar Commission report forwarded by Tamil Nadu.
Our legendary leader Late Dr.Kalaignar, immediately after sworning as Chief Minster of Tamilnadu on 17.9.1969 constituted a Commission under the leadership of Late Justice Dr.Rajamannar to review, analyse, and submit a report regarding the necessity of state autonomy .
The Rajamannar commission gave its report to state assembly when Dr.Kalaignar was the chief minister of Tamilnadu.
Dr.Kalaignar immediately presented the Rajamannar commission report before the state assembly and got its approval for making amendment in the Constitution for the independent functioning of autonomous State in the Country .
The resolution of the state assembly was also sent to the Central Government for consideration.
The present political atmosphere in this country clearly establish the necessity of autonomous state. I wonder how our great leader, had anticipated the future of the nation even before almost five decades.
He took the decision for autonomous state and clearly disclosed his political intelligence, the capacity to oppose the national problems with utmost ability and in a careful manner. He is a dynamic, vibrant, veteran leader.
Definitely, His service would uplift the common public and create a turning point in the history of India. He had proved that, he is the ardent and the trusted follower of late Anna and Periyar.
Indian history cannot be written without the contribution of Dr.Kalaingar. He will be a guide, philosopher and political encyclopaedia for all the Tamilians in future. In the History of India his achievements and Ideologies will live long.
