One day Yanguan called to his attendant, "Bring me the rhinoceros fan."

The attendant said, "The fan is broken."

Yanguan said, "Then bring me the rhinoceros!"

The attendant had no reply. 1/
Zifu drew a circle and wrote the word "rhino" inside it and handed it to Yanguan. The master was pleased. 2/
The attendant could not think laterally and thought he had to somehow track down a rhinoceros.

Zifu used his imagination and had a leap of insight. 3/
When we don't think and just blindly follow conventions, we lose out. Don't settle for being the attendant.

What Zifu tells me is that there is usually a better way.

That better way is be more active, engaged, and imaginative in your thinking. 4/
We are not in grammar class where we have to blindly copy and repeat

We can set our own rules—& workflows—to encourage our joyful engagement

This allows us to be the one drawing a circle with the word ‘rhino’ in it.

This is Progressive Ideation—and yes—it is a better way. 5/5
