Outrage about Trump’s attack on the USPS is not enough. Here are concrete steps each of us can take to protect our vote and save our democracy. Thread 1/10
Call your senators at 202-224-3121 and tell them they need to get back to work and provide emergency funding for USPS and for states to conduct safe and fair elections — money that was allocated by the House THREE months ago.
Tell your member of Congress to demand immediate answers (with subpoena if nec) from Postmaster General Louis DeJoy and to hold him accountable for sabotaging our elections for Trump.
Register to vote by going to vote.org. Even if you think you’re already registered, double check your registration status to ensure it’s updated and you’re all set for the November election — just 80 days away.
Make a plan to vote EARLY, either in person or by mail. Again, go to vote.org to find out how to vote early in your state. Apply for your mail ballot NOW, fill it out, and send back using the methods your state allows. Don’t wait!
Remember: If you vote in person, wear a mask and follow social distance protocols.
Sign up to be a poll worker at powerthepolls.org to keep polling places open and staffed.
Call your SOS or county election official (find info here: usvotefoundation.org/vote/eoddomest…) and tell them they need to make secure drop boxes widely available & ensure that ballots postmarked on or by Election Day are counted within a reasonable number of days after (given USPS delays).

Another way Trump is trying to sabotage our democracy and exclude marginalized communities from counting. Fill out the census and tell your friends and family to do so at 2020census.gov or call 844-330-2020. We have limited time to be counted, impact will last a decade.
There are many lawsuits by civil rights organizations, by other democracy warriors, that are pressing states to accept ballots postmarked on or by Election Day even if they are received after, and to expand voting opps amid the pandemic. We need to support and win those too!
