Arab states want ties with Israel for reasons unconnected to the Palestinians. After a century of conflict, they appear to realize that subordinating their interests to the Palestinian cause was not good for anyone but the Palestinians.
My timeline is filled with analysts bending over backwards to make the Palestinians a central issue in the UAE announcement and future annoucements by other Arab states. It’s bizarre. The under-the-table relationships between Israel and Arab states are driven by self interest.
When we talk about self-interest, that includes: security, cyber, intelligence sharing, technology, trade, etc. Fear of an aggressive Iran looms largest. Israel’s ability to tangle with Tehran does not go unnoticed. But there are other benefits to reap from ties with Israel.
More broadly, what reason does Bahrain have to be at odds with Israel? Oman and Morocco, too. The Palestinian-Israeli conflict did not have to be an Arab-Israeli conflict. A century later, that fact appears to be dawning on these peripheral states. Better late than never.

The Houthis just fired another ballistic missile at Israel. Alarms sounded across the center of the country. Image
The missile was shot down. Probably by THAAD, the US system. Although possible Arrow, the Israeli system. A piece of the missile can we seen here Image
I happened to be on the highway when it happened. And when the sirens went off, people pulled over as instructed.

Unfortunately, a motorcyclist didn’t realize what was going on and he rear ended our cab. Image

Americans will wake up today & learn that Hamas murdered another 6 Israeli hostages, including one American-Israeli whose story was highlighted at the DNC.

Some thoughts to follow that will *not* focus on the heartbreak/trauma in Israel.

Let’s focus on who bears responsibility.
First, let’s all acknowledge that this war is not just Hamas vs Israel. Hamas is an Iranian tool. The group was trained, funded and armed by Iran.

Iran should be held to account for all of it, including but not only for the crimes against American citizens.
But it’s not just Iran.

Qatar is a not a neutral player, as it claims.

Qatar is a major financial patron and HQ for Hamas

Qatar should be stripped of its status as a US ally. It should be labeled a state sponsor of terror.

The families must sue Qatar for all they can get.

🧵Having reflected upon Biden’s arms embargo on Israel, I can share the following observations:

Biden is desperate to prevent a wider war.

I believe he is not as concerned about Rafah as he is about Iran, Hezbollah and the Houthis.
When Israel moves in to finish off Hamas, Iran and its proxies will unleash on Israel and probably the US.

In other words, rather than the US gaining leverage on Tehran and its proxies, Tehran has gained leverage over the White House.

Biden has never been a profile in courage…
He was famously one of the lone voices against the Bin Laden operation.

But he’s even more afraid of conflict now, at the height of election season in America.

So without any leverage on Iran or its proxies, Biden is controlling the only player he can: Israel.

🧵Campus protest thread here.

I’ve received lots of calls & emails in recent days related to this testimony from 2016.

I testified again last year on the same topic

If you don’t want to read the full testimonies, this piece by Bret Stephens when he was at the @WSJ.

Bottom line: AMP is populated by people who previously worked for Hamas charities that were shut down in America.

wsj.com/articles/the-a…
@WSJ AMP has been funding Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) for years.

AMP spent $100k in 2014 on campus activity.

Here is a photo of SJP students with “Happy Gilmore”sized checks from AMP in 2016. Image

Saleh Al-Arouri, one of Hamas’s top officials, has reportedly been taken out in Lebanon. kan.org.il/content/kan-ne…
Arouri was designated by the US Treasury.

He was also on the Rewards for Justice Program. home.treasury.gov/news/press-rel…

In 2014, Arouri claimed responsibility for the kidnapping and killing of 3 teens in the West Bank. That Hamas operation led to a 51-day war between Hamas and Israel.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my followers.

I've just put my Turkey in the oven. So, it's now time to revive a Turkey Day tradition.

Something is rotten in Turkey. Lots of things, actually. Let's review.

A thread….
I started watching Turkey's terror activity in 2010. That year Turkey sent a flotilla to Gaza to help the Hamas terrorist organization break out of isolation.

An NGO called IHH organized. IHH is nasty, with all kinds of terror ties. I analyzed here:

washingtonexaminer.com/weekly-standar…
IHH is still up to no good. The group recently organized a massive riot at the gates of the Incirilik air base, where US servicemen maintain a base that is crucial to American interests in the Middle East.
