The “Q” thing is nuts, of course, but it’s tempting to dismiss because these things usually become current among the poor and desperate. This is more than that. You have plenty of people involved who are more or less comfortable by normal standards.
Many of you are too young to remember but it's not dissimilar to the Birchers, who declined after Vietnam and Welch's death in part because the regular Republican Party was thrown open to them in a way it hadn't been.
Many people in this country just won't settle for any form of government besides the military. It is not a Trump thing, nor is it a problem you can throw money at.
