The focus on gun violence at the #DemocraticNationalConvention should make it clear that both parties are NOT the same. No, it isn't a choice between the better of 2 evils. There is only one evil: Trump-GOP, in bed with the NRA, a death cult unconcerned about the lives of victims

I remember the day Gabby Giffords was shot and I cried in my kitchen. Watching her come so far is inspiring. So so so so so so so very grateful that she is still alive and still fighting for righteousness.

I am so glad Gabby Giffords' husband is going to be the next senator from Arizona. Two heroes.

At the #DemocraticNationalConvention, we're highlighting climate change. Trump-GOP is anti-science, calling climate change a hoax, & reversing all the progress we've made. There is only 1 viable party fighting climate change: the Democratic Party. Both parties are NOT the same.

Every issue being highlighted tonight at the #DemocraticNationalConvention - like immigration -- shows how the choice before us is stark. Vote for humanity; vote Democratic.

Just the sound of Barack Obama's voice in that clip gives me chills. The good kind of chills. Man, there is only one Obama. Best president of my lifetime so far.

Great clip on women in office. Women are the heart of the Democratic Party... for women who don't get it, remember: A woman voting Republican is the chicken voting for Colonel Sanders.

Your reminder, Hillary Clinton was the first women ever nominated to be a major party’s presidential candidate. She's a trailblazer and a history maker and a loyal Democrat. My vote for her was the smartest of my life.

Let's be clear, Nancy Pelosi is the best house speaker in modernity. If you don't understand how damned effective she has been, you haven't done your legislative homework. She's the most powerful woman in US history to date. Total respect.

I was married to a "nice" corp exec who held a gun to my head when i tried to leave him for serial spousal abuse. I am lucky to be alive. As a survivor of domestic violence (don't worry-I thrive!), I will never forget that Joe Biden is a leader on the Violence Against Women Act.

Elizabeth Warren could be Treasury Secretary, Labor Secretary, Education Secretary... I mean, name the portfolio and she could own it. Name it, and Elizabeth Warren still has a plan for that.

Obama is laying the smack down on the Impotus with sobriety and seriousness of purpose.

Obama on Impotus: "Donald Trump hasn’t grown into the job because he can’t. And the consequences of that failure are severe. 170,000 Americans dead. Millions of jobs gone while those at the top take in more than ever. Our worst impulses unleashed."

Obama burns Impotus: He has shown no interest in putting in the work. No interest in treating the presidency as anything but one more reality show that he can use to get the attention he craves. Donald Trump hasn't grown into the job because he can't. The consequences are severe.

Every word from Obama is a sad reminder that we went from this type of integrity, intelligence, humanity, competency, and patriotism and to the exact opposite in trump. It is up to each one of us to make the great correction. Vote out Trump and vote in Biden.

Obama on our winning ticket: "But more than anything, what I know about Joe, what I know about Kamala is that they actually care about every American. And they care deeply about this democracy."

Listen to Obama remind people not to succumb to cynicism. All too often folks here tweet with a jaded sense of demoralizing cynicism. As Obama says, "that is how democracy withers... do not let them take away your power, do not let them take away your democracy."

This is a gutting of trump with a velvet hand and a reminder to everyone about their civic responsibility to take our country back.

And with that, amazing Kamala Harris makes history as the first woman of color nominated to be vice president of the United States on a major party ticket. As a woman of color myself, I find myself tear-eyed. So proud to be part of a Democratic Party filled with history-makers.

"Where a good paying job is the floor, not the ceiling" -- that's a line the entire Democratic Party should adopt and repeat over and over.

This is a really excellent speech: "We will act with the same faith in you that we ask you to place in us."

Kamala Harris finishes her speech as the joyful fighter and reminds us that we are called to vote on the right side of history and humanity in November.
