Greg Palast: The chance is 1 in 10 you don't get your ballot if you request it & 1 in 10 your ballot isn't counted when you vote. The privacy of the ballot is gone with mail-in ballots b/c they have your name & registration. 22% of mail-in ballots are never counted.

Greg Palast: 141,000 mail-in ballots are thrown out b/c of a question of a fraudulent signature--make sure you sign exactly as you registered. Get a registered voter to witness your ballot. Some states require ballots to be notarized.

Greg Palast: Look at the rules when you fill out your ballot. If you're a student in WI or TX, you can't use your student IDs; you have to get a special ID.

Greg Palast: If it says to use a black or blue pen, use a black or blue pen. If it says to fill in the bubble, FILL IN THE BUBBLE. Don't write an X or a check mark. Don't put scotch tape on your ballot to close it--that invalidates your ballot, too.

Greg Palast: If you make a mistake & have to open the envelope, you can't tape it shut or use your own envelop--you must go to the Board of Elections to get a new envelope, or your ballot is invalidated.

Greg Palast: The GOP has sued WI to require the state to remove 152,000 voters from rolls. I got the list of the voters they want to remove & went to the Board of Elections. Most of the voters are from Milwaukee (African-American voters) & Madison (college students)

Greg Palast: Almost every state allows you to register online. Register & take a screen-shot. I actually recommend re-registering every year so you don't get removed b/c of being "inactive" (missing 1 or 2 elections).
