"Sugawara-san!" Hinata's cheerful voice came through the phone speaker. "Do you wanna join me, Atsumu-san, and Osamu-san to play beach volleyball?"

"Ahh, sure sure, Hinata," Sugawara replied, a little bit excited. He does miss volleyball, after all. "Why me, though?"

"Ahh, well," Hinata grinned sheepishly, "I already asked Tsukishima, Yamaguchi, and Tanaka-san, but they were all busy! I'm glad you're free on that day!"

"I see! Okay, I'll see you then, Hinata!"

Beach Volleyball day came, and the four of them met up, all psyched up to play.

"Ahh! I haven't played volleyball in a long time! It's good to work my muscles again!" Suga said.

"Me too," Osamu chimed in, his expression neutral, but a hint of anticipation was in his voice too.

Volleyball had been an important part of Sugawara and Osamu's lives. Of course they miss it. So when Hinata had invited each of them to play beach volleyball, they easily agreed.

"Let's play!" Hinata said cheerfully. "Me and Atsumu-san versus Osamu-san and Sugawara-san!"

"Just because y'all are scrubs don't mean Shouyou-kun and I would go easy on ya," Atsumu said dramatically.

Hinata playfully smacked him in the arm. "Atsumu-san! Play nice!" he said with a bright laugh. Suga let out a small laugh and Osamu just snorted.

"Miya-san," Sugawara said, addressing Osamu. "We've met a few times before, but it's our first time hanging out. Let's do our best!" he added, putting up his fist for a fist bump.

"Just Osamu is fine," Osamu replied cooly, returning his fistbump. "Let's crush 'em."

"Right!"

In truth, only Hinata had experience in beach volleyball, and was the only one who could handle himself. Osamu and Sugawara may not have been able to practice regularly, but not even Atsumu's pro volleyball training prepared him for how treacherous the sand is.

"Lame," Osamu teased Atsumu from across the net when the latter botched a toss. "Hinata-kun received that one beautifully and ya go and ruin it."

"Shut up! It's not as if you're doin any better." Atsumu scrunch his face at Osamu in annoyance.

Atsumu, Osamu, and Sugawara had all been stumbling all over the beach.

"This," Sugawara huffed after slipping agan, "will take a little getting used too."

"Yeah." Osamu offered his hand to help Suga up.

"Thanks, Osamu-san!" Suga grinned at him. Osamu blinked. Wow, he's bright.

"Seriously, Shouyou-kun! How do ya do it? Are ya a sandbender?" They heard Atsumu complain from across the net, catching their attention.

"I'm not, Atsumu-san! This is just what Brazil does to you!" Hinata replied, laughing.

Atsumu picked Hinata up, holding him by his sides. "Come on, Shouyo-kun! You're no fair!" he wailed dramatically, because what is Miya Atsumu if not dramatic.

"Atsumu-san! Put me down!" Hinata cried out, still laughing. He's been laughing at Atsumu's antics for most of the day.

Sugawara raised an eyebrow, and noticed Osamu do the same. They smirked at each other.

"Shouyou-kun here, Atsumu-san there. It's ridiculous," Samu shook his head.

"There's something there, isn't there?" Suga whispered to him, smiling fondly at his kouhai and his kouhai's setter

It was a few plays later when Osamu sent an acceptable spike back to the other side, with Atsumu making a messy receive and Hinata making do and setting it up beautifully anyway, only for Atsumu to miscalculate his footing and send a weak spike back.

"Mine!" Sugawara and Osamu had said at the same time, before panic flashed in their faces as they almost collided into each other. Then, in a moment of pure instinct, Osamu put his arms up to receive the ball, because he was in a better position to receive it.

Sugawara grinned.

"Nice receive!" Osamu heard him say. Bright. He's so bright.

Suga gets into the position to make a good set, and, in a moment of sheer will, Samu is there, jumping for the perfect spike. The ball flew to Atsumu's side, who lost his footing again, failing to receive it properly.

Osamu, however, miscalculated his momentum, and was in collision course with Sugawara. Suga tried leaping to the side, but Samu's leg caught his, sending them both sprawling into the ground side-by-side.

Osamu rolled over to his side and spat out some sand. "I don't like sand."

Suga grinned. So bright. "Yeah. It's fun though."

The two made no move to get up. Then, Suga added, "Should I get Hinata to sandbend the sand out of your mouth?" At this, Samu started laughing. Suga did too, so now they're a pair of boys laughing while lying together on the sand

Across the net, Atsumu and Hinata watched them, amused. Hinata tugged at Atsumu's shirt.

"Atsumu-san," he whispered to Atsumu, while smiling fondly at his senpai and his senpai's wind spiker. "There's something there, isn't there?"
