People ask me,would I be missing something?
Beautiful Shillong,my second home town,where I spent part of my childhood and where my brother Saugata(MP)was born?

No,I won’t be missing Shillong much. It is very far from the Shillong of my childhood.
The Assam-type houses are gone. The once-clear Um Khrah River is an open sewer. And ethnic tension

has raised its ugly head. The once-thriving Bengali community are now an enfeebled,beleaguered one.
Agartala,on the other hand was a very culturally alive city.
And it was a pleasure to hear everyone speak Bengali in the Comilla-Brahmanbaria accent,the speech of my ancestors
