Today, I want to tell you about the power of asking for help. I want to tell you about the need to be specific even when asking for help. It is important to know what and where you need help in else you'll be asking for all the wrong things.

2. When I hear people say, "I can never ask for help", it always amazes me.
1. Because you can't do it alone
2. God will not come down to help you
3. You go farther when you have a strong social support.

3. Except you don't help others too, never be ashamed or afraid to ask for help when you need it. You are worried about getting No? You shouldn't be, my friend. It is a part of life. As long as you're a dependable person yourself and you surround yourself with the right network,

4. Don't be shy to say, "I could do with some help here".
I'll give you the story of two brothers. Their father had money but he was strict. Not wicked but strict. Their parents sent them to the best schools and gave them a good upbringing to make it in life.

5. When they came back to set up, they were both trying to get settled in. The younger one went back to his father and asked him to introduce him to one of his friends and also give him some funding. Which his father did with a promise of paying back when he was settled.

6. The older one kept struggling and tried making connections on his own. He started to talk about his father in a bad way and said he loved his younger brother more. He finally confronted his dad and told him about the way he felt. The man told him....."Did you ask for help?

7. I thought you had it all figured out, you never asked for help. I'm your father. I've given you everything. I wanted to teach you another important lesson in life". He helped his son and everything was fine again.

8. If you're ever faced with someone that wants to help you that gives you options of asking for whatever you want....ask for the best that will suit your purpose. I remember when my dad asked me for the kind of laptop I wanted. I asked for my dream laptop even though..

9. I never thought he was going to get it. And he did.

As long as you're a person of value yourself and you're not feeling entitled to another person's time, wealth or resources...if they ever ask you what you need...open your mouth.

10. God will not come down from heaven to do it for you. Helpers will come in form of human beings. Some of you have lost opportunities simply because you kept your mouths closed.

Don't be a parasite please. Give value too.

11. I'm one of the most loyal and dependable friends you can have (if we're friends). And the people I call my friends too, have my back anytime.
Who are you surrounded with? What is your social capital like? Are you surrounded by fair weather friends only?

12. Are you a fair weather friend yourself? If you're not getting help, you may also need to check yourself.
P.S... Even when I'm talking to God about my needs, there is NOTHING too mundane to ask God.

13. Is it not me and God? Down to how I want my kids to look like and how I want them to stop waking up in the middle of the night after 9 months. And guess what? God did it. Open your mouth..and say what you need.

14. Don't go around becoming a parasite asking all random people for help without establishing a relationship first o. Noone owes you anything. Before people start avoiding your calls. Apply emotional intelligence in all that you do. If not, it will end in premium abuku.
