OTD in 1939 Stalin signed the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact with the Nazis.
It totally did not have a secret clause that divided Europe into imperialist spheres & we definitely did not invade anyone in accordance with it in coordination with Nazi Germany.

Non aggression pacts were all the rage, we just preferred one with Nazi Germany to the one we already had with Poland. Ours was the only one that def didn't have a secret clause. ;)

To continue the secret clause fashion, about a year later we signed *another* treaty with that Nazis with *another* secret clause that was absolutely not absolutely not about being allies:
“Both parties will tolerate in their territories no Polish agitation which affects the ....

..territories of the other party. They will suppress in their territories all beginnings of such agitation and inform each other concerning suitable measures for this purpose”

‘and inform each other’ 😎😎

But cos it was wrong the west did a deal with Hitler cos they we weren’t ready for war and don’t justify this now it wasn’t wrong for Russia to do a deal with Hitler (secret clause) cos we also weren’t ready for war & it’s ok for us to justify this now
