I want to address a BLM/media talking point concerning race and police targeting.

Protests and riots ensued and of course, racism is being screamed by BLM and the media. Kenosha was terrorized last night and it continues today. The reasonable question is why did police have to kill these men. So let’s address that...
What do you think the outcome of these situations would have been if these two individuals would have just followed the instructions of the officers? Arrested maybe, but almost certainly not shot and/or killed. So who is ACTUALLY to blame for these men dying??
When I was growing up, what would have happened if my dad had told me to “sit down” and I ignored his instruction?? I would have gotten my ass whooped!! So I learned to respect authority and avoid the whoopin.
This has nothing to do with race! The police have an incredibly difficult task that by and large they do a phenomenal job of handling. Situations as simple as a traffic stop is a potential life ending encounter for the officer, so they are hyper aware of the behaviors of ...
... the individuals they are engaging. For an officer, someone reaching into their glovebox could be to retrieve their insurance card or a handgun, they never know which and that is why they give specific instructions that MUST be followed in order to avoid a disastrous outcome.
Part of the problem has been the portrayal of police interactions in the media and the overblown narrative of unarmed blacks being killed by racist white cops.

The media would have you believe that this is something that happens daily in America. FALSE! But when you see media glorifying a cop getting hit in the head with a brick, or ‘protesters’ fighting with police, it causes people to become emboldened in resisting police.
As a white man, when a police officer pulls me over,
1. I IMMEDIATELY find an area well off the highway to pull over, so the officer is not endangered by traffic.
2. If it is nighttime, I turn on my interior light.
3. I turn off my radio if it’s on.

4. I roll down my window and put BOTH hands on my steering wheel and I wait for the officer to give me instructions.
Why do I do all that??? Because I know how hard that officers job is and I want him to be at ease when he/she approaches me.

Yes, as a white man, I EXPECT to get shot if I put that officer in a bad position by putting them on edge and not following instructions. It’s NOT about race, it’s about the officer trying to make it home safely.

Just like with my daddy, I expect to get my ass whooped if I don’t respect authority. No matter what your race, if you’re putting the officer, or public’s lives in danger because you don’t respect authority, you can expect a severe consequence.
The media tries to convince people to resist and then use the victims to push a false narrative. Don’t be their pawn! There’s not a SINGLE person ‘protesting’ or working in media that could or would put on the uniform and do what police do daily.
It’s an incredibly difficult and dangerous job and it is made exponentially harder when politicians, the media and domestic terrorists are fighting against them every step of the way.
So when you have a police interaction, be respectful of their authority, follow instructions and demonstrate a care for their well being, and you might be amazed at how smooth things go for you.
Just FYI, I have been pulled over (usually for speeding) dozens of times in the past 10 years. In Texas, you pretty much have to be going 10-15mph over the limit to get stopped, otherwise you’re just flowing with traffic.
You know how many tickets I’ve gotten??? ZERO! But almost every time, the officer thanks me for my behavior and keeping their safety in mind. When you give respect, you get respect.
