BREAKING: We’re suing on behalf of protesters who were abducted, beaten, and gassed by federal agents during Black Lives Matter protests in Portland.
The @ACLU_OR filed this lawsuit on behalf of protesters who were:
❗abducted by federal agents in unmarked vans
❗beaten with batons
❗shot in the head with rubber bullets
One of the clients in this lawsuit is Navy veteran Christopher David, who was recorded being attacked and tear gassed by federal agents.
“There was no reason for such violence,” says Chris, the veteran whose videotaped attack by federal agents in Portland went viral.

BREAKING: We are calling for the immediate resignation of Kenosha Police Chief Daniel Miskinis and Kenosha County Sheriff David Beth.
We're calling for these resignations following the lead of organizers on the ground in Kenosha, Wisconsin, after the shooting of Jacob Blake by police and the murder of two protestors who were shot by a 17-year-old participating in an armed counter-protest.
Sheriff David Beth's deputies not only socialized with white supremacist counter-protestors on Tuesday but allowed the shooter to leave the scene.

Sheriff Beth also previously called for five people of color who had been arrested for shoplifting to 'be put into warehouses.'

Late Sunday afternoon in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Jacob Blake was the victim of another disgusting act of police brutality.

Within full view of his 3 children seated in the backseat, Blake was shot 7 times in the back while walking away from police officers and opening his car door.
With each of the seven shots fired, police made their intent clear — they believed they had the right to kill an unarmed Black man for the crime of walking away from them.
The police department’s statement after said that they provided “immediate medical aid.”

But rendering first aid is a basic obligation.

It is offensive to act as if not letting Jacob Blake bleed out was an act of grace, rather than a mandatory response to their own violence.
