This is one of the reasons why I say we need a IBDF - Integrated Border Defence Force - comprising of all border security forces - BSF, ITBP, Assam Rifles, SSB and Coast Guards.

All under one ministry preferably Defense ministry.
And most importantly, use all the early retirement buds from Indian Army, Air Force and Navy to fill in ranks of this IBDF. Not only it would be cost effective, intelligence failures could also be avoided if IBDF is in sync with Armed Forces. @haryannvi
This is another reason why we need IBDF. Such leaks rarely happen in Army operations. But since ITBP is under Babus of @HMOIndia , this is happening. #LadakhStandoff

IBDF should better be kept under
@PMOIndia / @DefenceMinIndia !!

Watch @Iyervval (in talk with @Sanjay_Dixit) answers a question on moving ex-armed forces people into law enforcement. Says, "it is natural transition...but no government listens"

Abhijit @Iyervval explains beautifully how "Quick to shoot" (good in army) to "Think before you shoot" (good in law enforcement) transition happens. This idea also fits so well in IBDF. Cost, effectiveness, Intel & operational failures all taken care of.

A lot of this "disdain" would be gone when you have familiar faces/ranks and just one central command to deal with.

Army-IBDF : @DefenceMinIndia - @HMOIndia or @PMOIndia (whichever saves defense budget)

Peer learning would keep this "disdain" away.

Merging BSF, ITBP, SSB, AR & Coast Guards into one - Integrated Border Defence Force and stuffing it with ex-armed forces ensures:

1 Better training (HR value addition),
2. Remove operational issues + intel failures,
3. Saves Cost (OROP issue settled)

Good point. Indian nonalignment between China-USA should be subject to Chinese nonalignment between India-Pakistan.

China gave Pak nuclear tech. India remained silent.

Only then Chinese will understand it. (Even Vietnam in place of Taiwan works)
Since US/West pressure for nuclear technology transfer is too much, it would be enough to even make a sell of readymade weaponry.

If not to communist Vietnam (USA would block again), give it to democratic Taiwan. @narendramodi

It is called "Hunda or Bataiya" system in eastern UP. You give your land to landless or sma farmers & in turn you get half of total harvest produced on that land (or some other arrangements depending on soil). @FrankBullit67 @Mirzaraja14
Since all of this is informal system, a lot of issues arises. But it is an effective way of dealing with small land holdings on which you can't afford to have significant large investment. Now that system is going to be formalized, people could get better deals as well.
Most of those who have govt jobs or are involved in business but have large land holdings (even 1-2 acres) rent their land in such way. The rented land could be used for Bagans as well. A 10-15 year lease also works (typically for those who have 10+ acres).

Context: Manmohan Singh apart from Jawahar Lal Nehru is only PM of India who has lost Indian territory to external forces.

Incidently, both lost part of Ladakh only. (Keeping J&K aside as general elections in India happened in 1951-52).

On a different note, this "not crossing the sea" in many Hindu texts isn't that old a phenomenon as many would believe.

In @sanjeevsanyal 's land of seven rivers, there is story of Kaundinya, q Brahmin who founded empire in SE Asia. (keeping the myths around it out). 1/2
SS later laments (in the book) how Indian started looking inward and have imposed restrictions on themselves (referring to "not crossing the sea" & "caste system" etc) and from there the Indian dominance at sea begin to decline. 2/2

Many indic scholars like @singhsahana however disgrees over the timeline on which this "decline" (of Indian education, she writes) started. She places it at the start of Islamic conquests in India. @sanjeevsanyal 's timeline (what I understand) is just after Golden period.
