2/ Noting here some people saying I'm "amplifying" this message. This is pernicious and deeply wrong-headed, though well-intentioned, thinking. The idea is that if we who oppose these fascistic developments ignore it it will go away or perhaps that will make it not exist.
3/ Don't give it oxygen, as they say. Deeply wrongheaded thinking. People who think these things have their own channels of spreading their thinking. Pretending these things don't exist, not shining a spotlight to inform those who disagree is comical folly.
4/ We have been dealing with versions of this flawed thinking for a couple decades. But the fallacy has been more refined and coherent in the last few years. By not "amplifying" you simply let these things gain power and traction without those who opppose them or ...
5/ would oppose them even knowing about it. It's a profound level of myopia: if liberals refuse to discuss it it will cease to exist. Because apparently rightwingers have no way of spreading their ideas if liberals don't assist them.
