While this past legislative session was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, Missouri legislators were still able to pass a number of my priorities and other pieces of legislation I was proud to sign into law. Several bills go into effect today.

Among these are:
HB 1387, sponsored by Rep. @jmmurphy8, creating the "Authorized Electronic Monitoring in Long-Term Care Facilities Act."
HB 1414, sponsored by Rep. Sheila Solon, modifying provisions relating to child protection including homeless youth benefits, protection of foster children, child protection for military families, foster care reform, foster parent rights, and substance abuse treatment waivers.
HB 1511, sponsored by Rep. Steve Lynch, which allows license reciprocity for military spouses relocating to Missouri with their active duty partner. Military spouses face considerable challenges when they relocate and finding a job shouldn't be one of them!
HB 1768, sponsored by Rep. @riggs4missouri, extending the Missouri Broadband Grant Program through 2027.
HB 1963, sponsored by Rep. @travisfitzwater, transportation legislation authorizing a virtual driver’s license renewal system.
HB 2046, sponsored by Rep. @DerekGrier, initiating full professional registration license reciprocity, the Expanded Workforce Act, and the Fresh Start Act.
SB 569, sponsored by Senator @Koenig4MO, modifying procedures for tracking evidentiary collection kits and establishing the Justice for Survivors Act, the Sexual Assault Survivors’ Bill of Rights, and the Missouri Rights of Victims of Sexual Assault Task Force.
SB 591, sponsored by Sen. Bill White, modifying provisions relating to civil actions, including punitive damages and unlawful merchandising practices.
SB 600, sponsored by Sen. @LuetkemeyerTony, to help address violent crime in Missouri. This legislation gives law enforcement agencies the ability to prosecute street gang members or other criminal conspirators in a single indictment.
SB 653, sponsored by Senator @SandyCrawford2, modifying laws related to the protection of children, including foster care case management, Children’s Division records, temporary alternative placement agreements, risk assessments for child abuse or neglect, and foster parents.
SB 656, sponsored by Senator @MikeCierpiot, enhancing military personnel services and veterans awareness.
SB 739, sponsored by Senator @BobOnderMO, creating the Anti-Discrimination Against Israel Act prohibiting public entities from entering into certain contracts with a company unless the company certifies that they will not boycott goods or services from the State of Israel.
I am thankful for the legislators' work on these proposals and look forward to working with members to continue addressing violent crime, growing Missouri’s economy, expanding workforce development, and improving Missouri’s infrastructure. #MissouriForward
