We joined 10 other Governors, representing 54% of US pork production, in a letter to Congress rejecting California’s Proposition 12, which threatens to upend pork production and supply chains across the nation. ImageImageImage California’s inefficient and unscientific requirements should not dictate how farmers raise their crops and livestock across the country.

In response to worsening drought conditions throughout the state and upon the advice of the Missouri Drought Assessment Committee, we have announced the process for Missouri family farms to obtain emergency hay and water. As drought conditions continue to deteriorate across Missouri, we want to do all we can to help our family farms mitigate the devastating effects of severe drought.

Honored to celebrate with graduates from @OTCedu and to get the chance to encourage this next generation to reach their American Dream.

The American Dream should be achievable for ALL and NEVER the exception for some. Image Teresa and I are living our American Dream. Our dream is one of faith, family, and patriotic service. A dream that allowed a rowdy farm boy from small-town Wheatland and a bright and beautiful woman from Bolivar to meet and one day become the Governor and First Lady of Missouri. Image

Today, we joined the ground breaking ceremony for American Foods Group, LLC’s new state-of-the-art beef processing facility in Warren County.

This marks the beginning of a project expected to generate $1 billion in annual economic impact in the state. #MissouriProud With $94 billion contributed to our economy annually — agriculture is our number one industry.

As a third-generation farmer and cattleman myself, I am proud to welcome American Foods Group to Missouri. This will benefit our agricultural producers and consumers for years to come.

When I became Governor, we knew we need to do better when it came to Missouri’s crumbling infrastructure.

That why we established our Focus on Bridges program in 2019, and we set out to repair and replace 250 of some of the worst bridges across state. We’re proud that with the completion of the Route 50 at Chipman Road bridge… we have now completed more than 185 of those bridges! Great to celebrate with Lee’s Summit this morning.

But we didn’t just stop with our Focus on Bridges program.

This week, I joined leaders from across the state for the Governor’s Conference on Economic Development hosted by @HawthornMO.

Businesses are taking notice and choosing Missouri to grow, invest, and create jobs. Missouri’s unemployment rates sits at 2.5% — the lowest in recorded state history.

✅ We are 1st in the U.S. for low cost of doing business

✅ 1st in the U.S. for On-The-Job Training

✅ 3rd in the U.S. for apprenticeships

✅ 3rd in the U.S. for low cost of living

Always great to join @MUCAFNRresearch’s Fisher Delta REEC Field Day in Portageville. We spoke with agriculture leaders in Southeast Missouri about research opportunities in soy, cotton, rice, and other Bootheel crops. Missouri agriculture has unrivaled diversity, access to cutting-edge research at our land grant universities, and a thriving agribusiness environment.

Our last stop of the day was at the @TrumanState University Farm. We met with Kirksville community members to detail our plans for a special session to cut income taxes and expand critical agriculture credits. A single bill, combining ag tax credits and income tax cuts will be introduced and originate in the Missouri Senate, where we hope for speedy passage to the House.

Today, we visited @ColumbiaUrbanAg and talk with folks about why we are holding a special session.

Great to meet with @MoAgriculture Director Chris Chinn and Columbia Mayor @BarbaraBuffaloe about the community’s efforts to provide fresh produce for local food banks. ImageImageImageImage As an Ag Governor, vetoing an Ag Bill was not something I took lightly, but to put it simply, it was a bad deal.

Special interests were involved in a bill that they had no business being involved with and our farm families and agriculture businesses were caught in the middle. Image

At Davidson Logistics in Bridgeton this morning to share details of our plan to provide the largest income tax cut in state history.

Incredible facility for a Missouri-grown company Don Davidson Jr. started in his basement. Great example of the American Dream in action! Image Starting September 6, we are calling the General Assembly to Jefferson City for a special session to lower the individual income tax rate from 5.3% down to 4.8%.

Employees of Davidson Logistics and every taxpaying Missourian will see a reduction in tax liability. ImageImageImageImage

In Kansas City as we travel around the state speaking to folks about returning more of their hard-earned money with a historic income tax cut.

Businesses are choosing to invest in Missouri and grow here. People are moving to our state to work here and start a family here. Thanks to Missouri’s strong foundation and balanced approach, Missourians and our economy are finding success. Our unemployment rate sits at the lowest level in our state’s history at 2.5 percent which has helped create the largest revenue surplus in state history.

Missouri has 10,384 bridges – the 6th most in the nation.

In January 2019, we put forth a proposal to repair or replace hundreds of the state’s worst bridges through our “Focus on Bridges” program.

But we didn’t stop there! Today, we traveled up to Nodaway County to celebrate our NEW investments in rural infrastructure which included $3,003,000 in the Long Branch and Mozingo bridges projects.

It’s no secret that our top priorities are infrastructure and workforce development. Most people live where they do because of location, location, location.

If our state is to continue to succeed we must provide funds for much needed repairs and invest in expansion projects. Today, we traveled to Kirksville to celebrate the $75 million infrastructure investment our administration making with the Transportation Cost-Share program.

Law enforcement officers in Missouri and throughout our nation protect us every day without second guessing the potential impacts on themselves.

Thanks to Missouri’s strong financial position, we are able to invest more in public safety and our officers. We called on lawmakers to fund projects that improve public safety across the state, and the FY23 budget answers that call:

✅ $104.7 million for a new public safety crime lab that will assist local law enforcement agencies
✅ $30 million for a first responders grant program

Rudi Keller, a blogger for the Missouri Independent, wrote a purposefully misleading article titled “Missouri Health Department found Mask Mandates Work, but Didn’t Make Findings Public.” He handpicked information from a Sunshine request then took the data out of context. (1/12) He left out important information that provides context for the whole story. This type of “so called” reporting is unethical and needs to stop because it misleads the public and poses a danger to the credibility of our institutions. (2/12)

Through a multi-step process, an individual took the records of at least three educators, decoded the HTML source code, and viewed the SSN of those specific educators.

We notified the Cole County prosecutor and the Highway Patrol’s Digital Forensic Unit will investigate. Image Upon receiving this notice, DESE immediately contacted the Missouri Office of Administration ITSD, who programs and maintains the web application, to remove public access to the portal and update the code.

When I last spoke to @SGFChamber our state was still reeling from the economic consequences of COVID-19 and facing a double-digit unemployment rate.

Today, Missouri’s unemployment rate stands at only 4.3%, and we have recovered the vast majority of jobs lost to the pandemic! Last year, we were also facing historic budget shortfalls and revenue loss, but this year we are experiencing record revenue increases over pre-pandemic, 2019 levels, which will allow us to make major investments for the next generation of Missourians.
