2/ Background:
⏳In 1979, Mr Parag Parikh started his sub broking business.
⏳Post 1991 economic reforms his business flourished in the following years
⏳In 2013 he give it up his broking & wealth management businesses to start an asset management company to offer MFs..
3/ Tragedy:
In 2015, Mr Parikh died in a car crash in USA. He was at Omaha to attend Warren Buffet's talk as part of Barkshire's AGM
4/ Mr Parikh's Philosophy &Principles:
📌He always desired to make money for the middle class
📌Competitors were asking for min investment of 25L to 1 Cr, his ticket size was 5L so that emerging middle class afford
📌Industry focus was gathering asset, he was good with less
5/
📌He always looked for an opportunity to enable middle class to invest into the stock market
📌Believed in FMCG & Defensive Sectors, which gives LT returns
📌He did not participate in 1999 dotcom boom
📌Against the idea of day trading & derivatives
6/
📌Any new investment ideas he first tried on his personal money than investors
📌He always used to say, Insurance is for protection not investment
This is Late Mr. Parag Parikh 👇
7/ Parag Parikh Long Term Equity Fund ~ a darling fund for most of the retailers with mere 3,500 cr AMC

This multicap fund was launched in the year 2013 with a very interesting allocations:
Largecap, Midcap, Smallcap & US Listed Stocks.
8/ Their current allocations in these are:
Largecap: 38%
Midcap: 16%
Smallcap: 11%
US Stocks: 29%
Cash: 6%

This fund performed better than the sector & NIFTY.
9/ Since launch this fund has delivered CAGR of 17.65%, is not amazing?

10/ I found this interesting on their portal:"We Are Different"
$ We do not aim to please everyone
$ We do not have a 'Sales Team'
$ We see ourselves as asset managers not gatherers
$ We have a stake in our scheme's success
$ We will not accept money when valuations r exorbitant
11/ an old tweet from @Vivek_Investor on 'Investment Lessons' by Mr. Parag Parikh.

"you may like a stock, but if the market dosent, then you may have to wait for longer for returns"
ITC? 🙂🙂
