Chinese games company iDreamsky is creating new offline entertainment / gaming experiences with investment partners including Tencent, Sony & JD

iDreamsky is working with its investors to design a new innovative offline interactive entertainment service model that grows the value of entertainment and games IP.

The store aims to offer content across TV, Movies, Games & esports paired with e-commerce and catering.

The store offers both private and large scale spaces to experience various content.

For example you have the ability to watch on demand movie content in private rooms, or arrange a traditional theatre experience for 20+ people. Includes movies not out on VOD yet. Also KTV rooms

One of the main draws is being able to play games here. Whether it's mobile, PC, Console, VR or even board games, it can be rented in either private rooms or in large social spaces.

Also includes the ability to play tournaments together.

Traditional internet cafe available too.

With Sony as one of iDreamsky's investors, there is the ability to play PS4 here, but also there will be exclusive game content, new releases and events to ensure people have a complete experience.

Switch is also available through the Tencent partnership.

Competitive gaming also plays a large role at these stores, with the ability to network and play with multiple people.

There are also esports competitions run in the stores regularly at an amateur, college and even professional level. These are turning into esports venues too.

There is also an integrated retail sales area where you can purchase physical content from partners.

E.g. gaming consoles, accessories, collectables and other items.

Online and offline purchasing available due to integration with its investor JD.

And then of course there is the ability to buy food and drinks in the store during your stay.

Most of the store can be considered self service too, being able to order everything from movies to food through your phone.

Ultimately this builds on traditional internet cafes.

Giving users the ability to play console games, which aren't that popular yet.

The ability to socialise with friends in groups, playing games or watching movies.

Building an esports scene within the store.

etc...

This mainly works because iDreamsky is able to work with its strategic investors to integrate entertainment content and technology into these stores.

Traditional membership services also available.

Plan is to open 100+ in next year. Certainly an area to watch.
