If you answered yes to at least 2 of this, you might have a disease of the prostate and would need to see a doctor as early as you can.

This month is #prostatecancerawarenessmonth

Common diseases of d prostate that we have include:
- BPH
- Cancer of the Prostate
- Prostatitis.
Today, we would be talking about BPH.

What is the Prostate?
Prostate is an organ that is concerned with reproduction (making babies) in d body of a man.

It produces a fluid that joins in forming d semen, that helps ur sperm swim/roll to meet the egg of a woman and form a baby.
What is now BPH?
Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) is simply when the prostate becomes so big for its own good & when this happens, it starts blocking/compressing the urethra (tube inside the penis where both urine & semen comes out from).

Most people just call this 'Prostate'.

Pls, prostate is not a disease. It is normal for you to have a prostate.

So if someone says you have a Prostate & you are a man, dont say God Forbid.

The following signs might suggest you have a prostate disease.
@DrNgoziOnuoha @docneto
1. If you notice that you pass urine more than 7 times in a day, or more than 3 times at night, you should see your doctor. It can be due to prostate disease, diabetes or some other medical condition.

2. If you cannot hold or delay your urine when it comes, you have to rush....
...to pee, else you would do it on yourself, then you should also see a doctor.

3. Remember when you use to be a child, and you would use your urine to be competing with other boys to see whose persons own would go up highest on a wall?
@AdaErema @olawalesmd @wakawaka_doctor
Yes, I know you do. So, If when urinating, the urine is not coming out with force like it used to, instead, it is coming out very slowly, it can be a sign of BPH.

4. If you need to strain or use ur strength to force d urine to come out, as if u want to poo, then go see a doctor.
5. If even after urinating, you still feel like there is still urine left in your bladder & that you want to urinate again. You might have BPH.

6. If you use to urinate and stop and urinate & stop... Whenever u go to urinate, you should ask your doctor questions.
@proudnursemj
7. If you feel the need to pee, but after reaching the toilet, the urine now refused to come out, you should see a doctor.

While these signs may indicate that you may have BPH, it could also be cancer of the prostate, which is far much worse than BPH.

You should see a doctor.
Know that BPH is not a very bad condition like Cancer, but it can cause you to be haring recurrent Urinary infections &be embarrassing you in public.
Please see your doctor.

I hope you've been able to understand this.

Tomorrow, we'd talk about Prostate Cancer.
