There are many, many complicated things about the shootings in Kenosha - legally, morally, and otherwise.

That the shooter appeared to be acting in self defense - at least for the second and third shootings - is not one of them. @NPR could’ve done a 15-second google search.

There are many troubling differences in how the media covers partisan issues but I’m stunned at recent coverage of political violence.

At left, you have a complicated case alleging self defense. At right, a cold blooded murder.

You likely already know the backstories involved but on the left is the Kenosha shooting, which killed 2. The accused - a Trump supporter - has claimed self-defense.

At right, a member of Antifa is accused of killing a man for being a Trump supporter.

But don’t tell @NPR. ImageImage
And their key voice, @Yamiche, pushed the same narrative without evidence, as if Rittenhouse had walked up to a protest and started randomly firing.

But on Portland? Yamiche goes silent. ImageImage

The level of concern the media had for social distancing during the RNC at the White House vs. this weekend’s protests is...something.

@politico found the RNC seating problematic enough to cover, but crickets about 50k people gathering in the midst of a pandemic.
They weren’t alone, of course.

@CBSNews and @weijia did the same thing. They mustered a lot of outrage about Trump’s lack of social distancing, but had no such concerns with the protest simultaneously taking place across the street or the march this weekend.
You’ll be shocked to see @Maddow employ the same double standard.

The fact that people like Reid pretend that this isn’t an issue is exactly why everyday Americans are readily souring on BLM.
