Auchincloss is all-but-assured to go on to win the general election in this safely Democratic district, which voted for Hillary Clinton by over 24 points in 2016, against GOP nominee Julie Hall. #MA04 includes some suburbs around Boston & stretches down to the South Coast region
Auchincloss performed particularly well in the South Coast region. He was backed by VoteVets, the With Honor Fund, a slew of local elected officials and groups including the mayors of New Bedford and Fall River, and secured the endorsement of the Boston Globe editorial board
Auchincloss' personal and political profile is quite similar to that of #MA06 Rep. Seth Moulton: both are Harvard grads and US Marine veterans. Both also cite their experience in the military as why they oppose endless wars and support more restrictions on assault weapons
